Introduction

NOW OFFERING IN PERSON AND TELE-THERAPY FOR CLIENTS IN GEORGIA!! Most of our clients choose to work with us because we believe each partner has a valid perspective that deserves to be heard. We know people make mistakes. Sometimes those mistakes seem unforgivable. We have a guide that we use that can help you build the trust necessary for the connection you will need to repair your relationship. Our guide is Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), a clinically validated model that works to allow couples to see safety in each other. We use EFT to seek to understand your underlying emotions and how previous experiences effect your perspective in your current relationship. Once empathy and compassion is felt, then the blaming and criticism that plagues your relationship can stop, and real communication can begin. As your relationship therapist, we will allow space for safety for both of you. The work we do together can help you to feel heard, felt, understood and supported. We do not take insurance, though if you have out-of-network coverage we can provide a receipt for reimbursement. We are only licensed for clients in the state of Georgia. Today is good day to start...let CURA know what we can work best in your schedule.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Relationship Therapy: $150 per 1 hour session; $225 for the initial assessment for 75 minutes Individual Therapy: $125 per 1 hour session I do not directly bill insurance companies. You may use out-of-network insurance coverage for reimbursement; I will provide a receipt for you if you have that coverage.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When first approached by a potential client, my greatest desire is make him/her feel comfortable: both with the process and me. I want to answer questions about the first session including what to expect, address concerns about the therapy process and offer assurance that I am trained to help. Couples meet with me as a couple to help me get to know them, their strengths and challenges in the relationship. Then I meet with each partner individually to learn about who each person is and how s/he came to be that way so that I can fully support each partners needs. The next sessions are a deep dive in to relationship repair work. I will allow a safe space to share needs, hurts and joys. Individual clients will begin our work together by stating his/her goals, stating current challenges then uncovering the origin, and starting on a path to personal success. Therapy is not always fun, but it is my belief that your path to self discovery, personal growth and self awareness will be worth it!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Master of Marriage and Family Therapy; Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy- Advanced Training; Gottman Level 1 Training

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work mostly with couples who are working to rebuild the connection that they once shared. I also have experience working with individuals experiencing challenges with life transitions, depression, anxiety, grief and long term illness. The focus of my work is to help people live the lives they want.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Daily, I work with couples in very tough places in their relationships. Those who are struggling to open up to each other due to recent hurts, difficulties with being vulnerable, or simply because life (careers, families, loss, etc) gets in the way. Partners learn new strategies to both listen and be heard. I love when I see it happening for a couple! This is why I do what I do.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Finding the perfect therapist is a lot like dating. Take the time to learn about your therapist. Personality is important. If you are to spend time with this person weekly, you should like them! Ask questions and be proactive when something is not what you think it should be.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What are my goals? What would I like to learn? How would I like to grow? If my life was ideal, what would it look like for me, my partner and/or my family? Does the professional have specific training for my needs?
