Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Sliding scale $110-$130/hr. for therapy $130-$140/hr. Psychological evaluations. $140-$150/hr. for Legal/Court cases.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The first several sessions involve collecting information about the presenting issues and also taking personal history. Therapeutic relationships are based on Trust, which is built together. Therapeutic relationships are confidential and legally protected.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a BA in Psychology and an MA in Counseling. I've been in Private Practice for over 35+ years. I've been a Meditation teacher for over 26 years and have attended long-term retreats and lived in Dharma centers as a staff person. I have attained high levels of personal realizations.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've always been curious about keeping my heart open, so that was my inner vision. I followed that path, twisting, turning, exploring and learning. I've asked for help from the wise and have received the help I needed. I now share what I have experienced with others.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Men, Women, Teens, Tweens, Children. Although there are 100's of different diagnoses, most of us get wounded on the emotional level during early childhood 0-5.5yrs. old, childhood 5.5-10y/o, or a combination of both. In a perfect world, every child should be loved and wanted by both parents. But that is very rare, Therapists trace back 3 generations to see the wounding trickle down into each one of us. It is possible, thru therapy, to heal much to most of these wounds. Each person decides if they feel they are worth that project. I assure everyone reading this that it is quite possible to do it. Your job is to find the right therapist for you. The key is to find a therapist who has done their own inner work to completion. Those are the Masters.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
In 1981 I went one my first 10 day meditation retreat. I went on one every 6 months. In 1990 I went on a 90 day meditation retreat, and then 10 day retreats every 6 months. In 1996 I shuttered my therapy practice and moved into a residential dharma center and retreat for a period of 20 months, hitting stream entry during the 16 month. Began teaching and holding retreats after that. The psychological path and the spiritual path are one and the same, but the spiritual path is a deeper level, because there is less distraction in the Dharma centers.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure the therapist has done their own inner work. A therapist can only take you as far as they have gone themselves. Senior and Master therapists can move you faster through your own emotional and psychological material. Don't waste time. Check out my youtube channel.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Come clean right away. Let go of all those competing personalities that we all carry around. Be honest and be brave enough to touch your emotional pain as soon as possible. As children we all learn to lie in order to get approval, but it makes us confused later. Our EGO is our false self. When you speak with your therapist, catch yourself doing that and come clean. Otherwise you'll stay on the surface, when you are trying to go deeper. Follow your grief, it never lies.
