Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I work to keep my pricing competitive. I have a $155-$225 minimum to begin work and typically give a 10% discount for people who have me do bulk package services in the home.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically I will reach out and ask for details and photos of the overall areas that need service and any areas of concern. From there I can upload client info into my integrated HouseCall software for estimates, invoices and updates. Most of the time I can give an accurate estimate based off those details. If I think there needs to be a closer evaluation, or the homeowner requests it, I will provide a free in person estimate with close examination of the installations and what the best solutions for service will be. After the estimate process the job will be set up and text and email confirmations will be sent out. Work is completed in a professional manner and payment is received at the end of the service. When service is finished I discuss detailed maintenance recommendations to maintain the great quality and set up a 1 year and 2 year quality check.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been in this industry for 4 years learning and building my services and discovering the best products that best serve home owners. I also am certified by the IIRC for Stone, Tile, and Masonry cleaning and work closely with representatives of Custom Building Products completing warranty work and fixing problems that might arise from any of their products in Colorado.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I got started through a Highly rated stone restoration company, Prostone Services. Through that company I learned about how to service different stone types, installation failures and fixes, chemistry, and geology. With that info I have a unique skillset of services aside from other companies that I bring to the table for tile and grout restoration. I also uniquely have the knowledge to solve complex issues and fix problems other standard tile and grout companies can't.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with all types of customers ranging from renters to new and old home owners. Apartment buildings to multi million dollar homes. I also work with high end hotels like the St. Julien in Boulder and companies like Custom Building Products and ILG.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently worked on a mountain home in evergreen with 15 year old sandstone tiles. Over the years the floor had darkened and become stained. With my cleaners, machine, and sealers I was able to restore it to better than new quality for the home owner. It took me a week to complete.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
My advice would be to get multiple quotes and opinions. Make sure the contractor has a high regard for the issue, what may have caused it, and a clear solution to fix and maintain it. Ensure that they use high quality trusted products, and that reviews match the kind of company you are looking to work with.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think about questions regarding potential causes for the issues, what they recommend to fix it, and what they can help out with to maintain it. Because at the end of the day a company can restore an installation, but it is up to the home owner to maintain it. This is an angle many contractors miss on in the customer service experience for this industry.
