What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We review/create/ send an estimate via email within 30min of arriving to your house. We generally want a minimum service for a maximum impact. Understanding the impact can start with a phone call or an in-person visit. We take our work seriously so we will want to validate the state of the tile/grout in person before giving an estimate.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been in business full time real estate related since 2018. Grout Medic is a franchise with a local owner. We have access to the operating procedures, prior experiences and lessons learned for over 45 franchise owners across the nation.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Investing in real estate - Tile work in Florida costs a lot more than in Boston, TN, or Denver because it is sometimes through the whole house, not just a bathroom. I remodeled a couple of homes and realized it wasn't the tile that was the problem. It's usually grout! I wasn't satisfied with the existing solutions so, after some research, I invested in a Grout Medic franchise in St Pete.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We just finished removing grout from a shower floor that drove the owner mad. She was cleaning it nonstop and couldn't get any traction removing the mold/mildew. We used our 325F vapor machine and prepped to regrout. After hours of removing old grout and cleaning the tile, Ted said it was the best shower floor epoxy job he had ever done. The owner stated "It's clean!! It's a miracle!!" I get excited exceeding expectations and I also get excited with a technician reaches out and shares how they improved something and take pride in their work.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Show me your former work. What do you do if you uncover something you didn't expect - do you have to call someone? Are there other people who can support you? Do you have a warranty on your work? Do you specialize in tile & grout cleaning or is this an alternative service you provide? Do you do background checks on your workers? How updated are you on the ANSI policies of Tile Council of North America? specifically when/where/what type of grout or caulk to install, etc.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What does clean tile or grout mean to you? That might change the service that makes the most sense. Cleaning grout on smaller tiles is more expensive than on larger tiles because it has more grout. How many different types of tile do you have? What colors are you focused on? Do I want the color of my grout to be a contrast to the tile or just blend in?
