Introduction

When you partner with Northwest Precision Flooring on your next tile project you'll experience a simple approach to achieving the way you want that area (or areas) to feel and look like once everything is completed. Q. What's approach to solving your problem? A. We ask simple, yet intentional questions that guide you to what you want your area to look and feel. And then we listen to what you have to say. And then we listen some more. From there, we create a game plan of how we can achieve this. Q. What's our experience? A. It's not the years in business that matter, it's each and every project that we've had a privilege to complete. Some of those projects, 10 and counting, have been the Clark County Parade of Homes and others have been small kitchen backsplashes or bathroom floors. *See our FAQ for a more detail response on our experience.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
"Price is what you pay, value is what you get" (Warren Buffet) If you want it done right, like most people do including myself, then know that you are paying for a professional who went through almost 20 years and 750 completed projects and continues to perfect his craft so that you feel throughout the entire installation experience that your hard earned money is well spent because you get a peace of mind knowing that everything is going to be taken care of, even when something does not go according to plan like in most remodeling projects.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Step 1: Phone or in-home consultation depending on the availability of the customer and myself and the scope of the project. Step 2: Understand what you would like to achieve (or resolve) with your tile project by asking meaningful and guiding questions to help reach your goal that aligns with your budget and lifestyle. Step 3: Create a roadmap by outlining the scope of work and timeline in writing (and diagrams if applicable). Step 4: Begin your project and complete it to your satisfaction.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Former journeyman tile setter for a local union company that predominately worked on the construction of the SW Waterfront luxury condominiums in Portland during 2006 - 2008. After the economic crash, I completed work in other trades such as HVAC and finish carpentry, and then in 2010 went back to working full time for a local tile employer. Since November 2013, I opened my own business and have worked on high-end remodeling projects and have completed over 750 new construction tile projects. Furthermore, I was able to take part in completing over 10 major individual tile projects in the Clark County Parade of Homes.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Small bathroom or backsplash renovations to $5M+ custom residential projects.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Prepare to have a basic lists of your concerns, questions, and really what you want to achieve in terms of how the color and style will make you feel.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1) What is my maximum budget (add another 10-20% for changes that were potentially unforeseen or you've chosen to make those changes as the project was ongoing)? 2) What is my timeline? 3) What do I want my tile to look or feel for me in terms of color, patterns, shapes, and sizes? 4? Before taking on this tile project, how long am I planning on living in this home (if this is your primary residence)?
