Introduction

Bert Basile brings more than 25 years of experience in sales, design and installation, from custom homes to, 4 star hotels and resorts. I took my experience and opened up Enzo’s tile in the Chicago market, mainly focused in the greater area of Chicagoland condos and houses. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I come in a bit lower, since I’m a smaller outfit, and have competitive prices.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Going over day-to-day processes in detail so everyone is on the same page. I always text prior to my arrival, like a good ships captain does.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Undergrad Umass

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I worked for tile contractors as my summer job for 4 years. First as a helper, then a tile setter. Thereafter, I worked with companies in NJ, Philadelphia, Aspen and Vail doing high end properties and resorts setting tile.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Mainly homeowners, some businesses.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

New basement master bathroom/ wet shower open concept- all walls floor to ceiling and floor. 4 days to install. See pics in gallery.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It’s always important to have the best substrate and waterproof your wet areas. I use spin dr leveling systems on all of my floors and walls. The best spacers system in the biz. Do it right, and it will last forever.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Pro&cons of tile size, color,design,grouts,substrate, and of course clean straight lines.
