Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer discount prices on tile and grout through Ceramic Tile Works of Maple Grove and The Tile Shop. Up to 10% discount for Veterans and serving members of any US Military Branch

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
1. Set up appt to review scope of work 2. We will supply a detailed estimate for the work 3. Set up appointment to have job completed 4. Work gets complete 5. Customer receives invoice

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been doing tile work since I was 11 years old. My dad does tile for a living and that is where I learned the trade. I have a degree in engineering and spent 5 years as an engineer. I am a problem solver.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After a few years working as an engineer, I decided that I did not like working behind a desk. I wanted to work with my hands and build products for people.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently did an authentic slate backsplash. Customer had saved this slate for more than 20 years as it was demoed out of her late mothers house. She waited for the perfect opportunity to reuse the slate, and the results were amazing.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
There are a lot of people who do horrible work. Do your homework before hiring someone. Hiring the cheapest contractor is not always the best choice; you get what you pay for. I don't know how many jobs that I had to completely tear up and redo for customers because they went with the low bid.
