Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We generally have a standard square foot price for everything labor wise for most projects. We have several resources for materials so we can find just about anything and be very competitive in the market.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We come out to the site of the project and take a look at the scope of work, measure, and get an idea what materials the client is interested in. Then we put together an estimate based on our initial meeting. At that point if the client wants to proceed we order material, secure a place on the schedule then complete the project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Real life day to day experience in the construction and flooring industry. Mistakes are your best professors. We’ve made them. We’ve learned from them. We rarely have issues but when we do we are there to make sure the customers expectations are met before we a paid for the project.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started working in the construction industry framing houses at 15 years old. I have since worked in most other facets of the industry other than hvac, electrical, & plumbing. At 28 I went in to the estimating side of construction. I went to work for a hardwood floor company as an estimator and really enjoyed floors and tile. I’ve now been in the industry for almost 20 years.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We work with homeowners as well as general contractors commercial and residential.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We just completed a full bathroom renovation where we tore out all existing tile, fiberglass shower insert, toilet, fixtures, vanity, etc. and installed the full renovation including tile shower and floors, vanity install, toilet, hardware, grab bars, Sheetrock repairs, painting walls trim and ceiling, installing lighting fixtures & plumbing fixtures.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Go with Floorcraft for all your hardwood and tile needs! Ha ha that’s the best advice I can offer. No, really. Make sure you check out the companies that you are considering thoroughly. Price is important but finding a company that will provide a service for a fair price, do great work and honor their warranty is becoming rare these days.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Customers should take in to consideration the size of the project, How long it will take? Will you be able to stay in the home while the work is being completed? Are you going to be without a bathroom? Do you have a place to move all of your furniture? ; if that is necessary to complete you project. If sanding and refinishing floors then you should take in to consideration the smell of oil based polyurethane. Are you sensitive to the smell? The customer should also have an idea what materials they are considering. Different materials can influence the price of labor so it’s a good idea to let the contractor know what you are considering.
