Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I just charge for my time. I’m always hard at work when I’m on the clock. I have a two hour minimum but no other fees.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Whenever I have a new job for a customer, I always want to make sure I understand exactly what the customer wants, and then I always ask if there’s any other small projects or things they want me to help out with while I’m there anyways.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have worked in the construction industry for over 13 years. I’ve done everything from cutting down trees to installing solar panels to some electrical and plumbing work as well as general construction. In Ukraine, I had my own crew and work as a subcontractor for big projects.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
When I lived in Ukraine, I had my own construction crew where we did solar panel installations as well as other construction jobs. When the war started I had to leave and was able to come to America. My dream is to start my own handyman business in America.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with everyone from homeowners to business owners to house flippers and real estate developers.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently, I did a project where a customer needed to break up a bunch of concrete to install plumbing in the basement of a house. I ran some 12 inch channels as well as some deeper 30 inch deep holes and then installed plumbing to the new bathroom. I was able to finish in two days.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I think most good providers should be able to have photos and examples of other projects like that they’ve done. Also, I think good providers charge money after a job not before it’s finished.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I think customer should have an idea of what they want and the budget they have to spend.
