Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have fair pricing in addition to $500 referral fees / per install.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
1. Consultation and Proposal 2. Site Survey 3. Engineering and Design 4. Permitting and Interconnection 5. Installation 6. Inspections by City/County/or State and Utility 7. Permission to Operate by Utility and Turn on Solar System 8. You are now energy independent and reduced your liability to rate increases and inflation over the time.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Stateside Solar Energy has over 10+ years in the solar energy industry.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started installing solar panels when I graduated college in 2015. I have worked in the industry ever since and worked my way up to being an owner now.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I like to work with customers that are level headed, understand that it's a process and want to go solar. Solar helps homeowners gain control of their energy future and I like to work with customers who understand that.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I have a lot of projects i'm fond of but I just enjoy communicating with people in general. That's my favorite part of every project is honestly the people I meet along the way. Each projects takes between 60-90 days on average from signing up, installation and turning on the solar system.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would just say choose a company and a person you want to work with. Solar is a process there are steps involved. You should choose someone you would enjoy working with on your solar project. You want someone that's responsive, can move projects quickly but understand it does take between those 60-90 days and also using good products and quality installers.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Understand that solar will be on your roof for 25-30 years. The solar panels and inverters we use a lone have a warranty of 25 years. So you're covered there. Stateside also does a 1 year warranty on the system in general for the first year. The next step is to make sure you have a good installer. It's not all about dollars and cents and comparing quotes. I find that actually complicates things. Just do your research and when you're ready to connect I would say just go with the person you trust and has a history of doing good work. I think we put out a good product. Not only have I been in solar for 10+ years but the installers who install my systems have been doing it for over 12+ in general. We have a good crew and team we work with and are confident in our work. We think we bring a lot to the table not only from an installation standpoint but from a customer service standpoint and you can tell by our reviews people generally enjoy working us. Lastly, one thing to think through is just by open minded. There's a lot of info out there that can make solar seem confusing, complicated, expensive and scary but it's not. Start by just getting a proposal to see what the investment would be. There are options and I think the best advice I could give customers is understanding they have a choice on where they get their energy and to explore the best option for themselves and family and if solar is a good option for them.
