Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When I work with a new customer, I like to keep things simple, clear, and honest. First, I’ll come out to take a look at the job and talk through exactly what you’re needing—whether it’s land clearing, grading, or landscaping. I’ll give you a fair, straightforward estimate and explain the work step by step so there are no surprises. Once we agree on the scope and price, I’ll schedule the job and show up when I say I will. I treat every property like it’s my own—making sure the work is done right, safely, and with attention to detail. I stay in communication throughout the job and don’t consider it complete until you’re fully satisfied. I take a lot of pride in doing honest work and building trust with every customer.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I got into this line of work about 10 years ago, starting out by operating heavy equipment for a local company. What began as just a job quickly turned into something I really enjoyed—I liked the process of taking a piece of land and shaping it into something useful and clean. Over time, I gained experience in everything from clearing lots and grading land to doing basic landscaping, and I realized I had a real passion and skill for it. That’s what led me to start my own business—to take what I’ve learned and build something of my own, offering the kind of reliable, high-quality work I’d want if I were the customer.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

One job I really liked was building a 7-foot retaining wall off the side of a house. The homeowner needed it to support a concrete pad they were planning to pour, and the slope made it a bit tricky. I knocked it out in two days—handled the digging, got the wall in solid, and made sure everything was graded right. It turned out clean and solid, and the customer was really happy with how it came together. Jobs like that are the reason I enjoy what I do.
