Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
All consultations are free including a detailed proposal for the completing the project including our price. Our prices are all inclusive of any demolition, and all labor and materials unless stated otherwise. Our proposals, once signed by a client become a contract between our company and the contract and the only time a final project cost changes is if there is a change-order from the client (such as add-on areas or a material change), or if unforeseen findings come up such as plumbing underground that was done improperly and needs to be fixed etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Upon first speaking with a potential client we will set up a free consultation to meet in person, see the project, take measurements, discuss details of the project including materials and design details, take personal information and then provide the client with a proposal.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We are ICPI certified, licensed by the California State License Board (CSLB), insured, and work with our own crews who work with Pavers Express Group day in and day out. We work with our crews to hone the details and our processes so the entire project is done to the highest standards. We only contract work out of the company when the scope of the work is outside of our abilities.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Our company is owned and operated by a husband and wife duo who work closely together to oversee the back-end and front-end of this business. Halex has always worked with his hands and started working with stone and tiles helping out his dad when he was 14. Marisa has made a career in administrative services and office management and continues to support the administrative side of Pavers Express Group.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We have worked with customers from Santa Rosa to Santa Clara, from Moss Beach to Discovery Bay. We've completed everything from small walkway projects to large theme park projects. We love it all!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We completed a project in San Rafael for a sweet young family with a modern farmhouse style home that included a new cobble paver driveway, walkways and front steps, front porch, water feature and artificial grass lawn. We also had the opportunity to completely re-haul their backyard with pavers and turf featuring a large paver grid with turf strips between for a very elegant and timeless look, a paver patio for hot tub and barbecue and lots of grass for young kids to run and play. This project took approximately 4 weeks to complete from the start of demolition until we left the project complete and cleaned-up.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
We are a licensed and insured company but also importantly husband and wife owned and operated. We think this sets us apart and is important to consider because this company and the work we do is vitally important to our family and we have a lot of pride in the work we do and the service we provide. We also only work with our own crews so this offers us full control over the details and end result and once we open a project we stay until completion (except in cases when weather keeps us away, which we try to plan for as best we can). We think these are all important aspects of our company and what a client should hope and expect from a contractor they hire.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Check if your contractor is licensed and insured and offers a warranty on their work. Taking full responsibility for the work you do should be the best and only practice for any professional.
