Introduction

Pro Lawn Care, dba Pro Landscapes, is the one stop shop for all of your properties’ Landscaping/Hardscaping, and Tree Removal needs. We do all things landscaping, hardscaping, storm water management, and aquatic gardening related. As the owner of Pro Landscapes, for over 10 years I have strived to work with every customer on every budget no matter what the project is. I don’t care if you live in a $100,000 house or a $10M house, everyone gets the same rates, I only care about keeping all my employees busy. Very few other landscapers will have gone to college for landscape design/horticulture, nor will they have the same experience in dealing with complicated water issues on your property. We attack your problem at the root, hitting it from all angles for a 100% solution. We design color coordinated, low and zero maintenance, deer resistant landscapes that become the envy of the neighborhood. Our products are a true neck-breaker for the neighbors, just look at our portfolio! We give you the "WOW" factor you’ve been looking for in your yard! Follow us on Instagram @Pro_Lawn_Care and Facebook @Pro Landscapes for a small taste of what we do!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
1. They carry a MHIC license required to do this type of work 2. Their license is in good standing with the license holder, and not expired. Cross reference their license with the DLLR to make sure they’re not just saying they have one. Plenty of people do that. My license # is 5117207 3. They are a fully insured company (most importantly general liability and workers comp. I also carry an umbrella policy for an additional 2 million. Copies of my insurance declarations are included below). 3. Ratings and reviews are in my opinion just as important as licenses. I carry a perfect 5 star rating on Thumbtack.com, Porch.com, and on google reviews if you google “Pro Lawn Care, LLC Maryland” I’m 2 or 3 from the top. 4. Price is one of the last things you should look at. The best price is what so many people only pay attention to these days, but that “best price” will usually come with an inexperienced or non licensed/non insured contractor. A good price is only as good as the things above to back it. Please keep in mind I went to college specifically for this type of work, which very few people in the state do. I take great pride in my work to make sure every project looks perfect for the customer. Thanks for your consideration,

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I usually arrange a meeting time convenient with the customer, meet with them to suggest many different options, let them choose what they like best and try to work out a plan that fits their specific needs and budget.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I went to college for Horticulture/Landscape Design & Construction. I currently hold MHIC license # 5117207. I am a knowledgeable Horticulturist, and a professional Landscape Designer. I regularly attend work shops for continuing education in my field, and have a thirst for any new knowledge having to do with landscaping. I know and utilize all the latest techniques taught in this field.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I didn't, my line of work chose me. One year I went from passing out 50 to 500 flyers and that changed business entirely for me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Real estate agents, HOA managers, Commercial lots such as Ruby Tuesdays, and car dealerships for maintenance. Countless residential customers. Monarch Global Academy in Laurel, MD.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We constructed a 650 square-foot natural flagstone patio. Some of the pieces being nearly 7ft long. A 25 foot long, 18 inch tall, 1.5 foot wide seat wall was created in between the patio and a 3,000 gallon pond. The pond was fed by a 7' long 3' wide waterfall. A drainage system was installed under the patio to promote drainage drainage. Pictures can be seen in the album on my profile. Project took 10 working days, about 2 weeks total.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
1. Make sure your contractor has a MHIC license if they’re performing any kind of home improvement work or doing enhancement on your home. It is the law. 2. If they have a license, take that license and plug it into the Maryland department of license, labor, and regulations website to make sure the license is: A) A valid license that isn’t expired B) In good standing C) The license doesn’t have any strikes against it 3. Make sure your contractor can produce valid insurance policies, specifically workers comp, and general liability are the most important policies. Our planting procedure: For your plantings, the holes dug will be 1.25-1.5x bigger than the root ball of the plant. A 1/2 existing soil, 1/2 organic matter/new cultivated soil will be added to each hole dug. Root scoring will be performed on each to ensure the roots spread after being installed. All shrubs/trees will be watered in after installation. A product called "dry roots" and pete moss will be installed in the planting hole. Prior to planting, a thick pronged pitch fork will be used to pry the ground open so the roots will have new avenues to expand in. All of these techniques will be used to ensure the health & sustainability of your plantings.
