Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing is dependent upon travel, amount of time shooting and amount of shots edited. If the customer can share ideas about those three variables it makes it easier for photographers to offer specific pricing for their services. I think it is always best to identify the work expected and pricing before the job starts!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I would recommend that the customer gather information on the type of shots they are seeking (close-ups, wide angle, landscape, candid, still, action); I would also recommend that the customer identify a location that will best serve for the shot they are seeking. My intention when shooting is to take a variety a different shots with momentary breaks to allow customers to view the shots in between so that customers can offer up suggestions and tweaks to the shoot can be made and to help ensure client satisfaction!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I took a photography class back in college.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been a photographer for years but have taken the hobby more seriously since 2019 with the upgrade of a new camera in the sony a7iii camera and various different lenses.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Headshots, food, apparel, sports, real estate and volunteer work

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I like them all! Each project is different.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find someone who is willing to take their time. It takes time to take different shots with different angles and settings - working with someone who can patiently work through that process and working with the customer to identify what they want is key!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How long are you expecting the photographer to shoot for? How many shots would you like edited? What cost are you willing to pay? What are the shots to be used for (personal, commercial, print outs, digital, social media)?
