Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Budgets are always open to negotiation.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I love to chat on the phone, FaceTime, or meeting at a coffee shop before working together, in order to get to know you more!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am primarily self-taught in video production, but I did take courses while in College, was trained in commercial production while I worked at a new station in Northern California, and have taken courses online. But most of what I've learned has come from countless times of trying it and getting better as I've shot hundreds of projects since 2013.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I had a natural passion and inclination toward creative work and filmmaking, so I decided to give it a shot by filming a friend's wedding and have never looked back!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds! I'm open to working with anyone and on any project!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Unless you have experience in the video production industry, be prepared to look to your contractor for a lot of advice. A good video production freelancer/company will not only work for you but teach you about the filmmaking process as they produce your content. Getting a video created is more like building a house than picking out a product at a store; there is no simple, easy, one-size-fits-all price and project. So just go into the process open-minded and ready to spend a little more time and money than you planned on in order to make a great video!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What's your absolute maximum budget? Are you giving the project enough time to be produced in a quality fashion? Have I found a freelancer/company that I can trust with the creative vision for my project?
