Introduction

--------PLEASE READ BEFORE CHECKING OUR AVAILABILITY---------- At DeNoise Studios, we love Thumbtack! However, Thumbtack charges each vendor a significant fee as soon as you contact us. So please take the time to carefully check profiles, reviews, samples, prices, and contact only the vendor you feel is the right match for you. We have 1000+ samples and reviews on our website. Thank you! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT US DeNoise Studios is a small video, photo, audio production facility located in Berkeley, CA. Since 1998, we have completed more than 8000 projects. We have a beautiful production studio located in Berkeley CA, and we also go everyday to film, shoot, and record on location, all over California and sometimes in other states and worlwide. Editing and projects management is always done at our studio under the supervision of Albert Benichou, the owner. We love seeing projects come to life. At DeNoise Studios we offer video, photo, and audio production services for business and personal events as well as for creative projects. Our skilled teams can help with every aspect of production including: scriptwriting, storyboarding, filming, recording, shooting, and live streaming. At our studio or on location we offer green screen services, editing, tilting, special effects, voice-over, captioning, digitization, duplication, and on-demand distribution. We have access to many talented musicians, models, hair and makeup artists for any creative production needs. About our founder, Albert Benichou: “I grew up in south of France, spent a few years in Israel and Morocco, and came to Berkeley in 1998 where I started DeNoise Studios. The business began as a sound mastering facility working with local musicians. I am an artist myself, I write and compose songs. I play guitar and perform in the French/Bossanova style. In 2008, I expanded DeNoise to include video and photo production and I was able to transfer my artistic skills in a way that I can today handle a mic or a lens with the same passion. Every day I pack my bike with equipment and meet different people telling different stories, and there is probably no better place than the Bay Area for this.”

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We run a real business, not just a home based one, with a professionally equipped studio, employees, insurance, workers comp, etc. We offer many different services but all related to audio, video and photo production. We serve corporations, small businesses as well as individuals. Prices vary depending the kind of job, the duration, the location, the equipment, the skills, the post production needs. We try to help non-profits and students too. And Please know that all the vendors you contact will pay a big amount of money to Thumbtack for that privilege, so please provide us with the right feedback even if you don't hire us, that will help us improve services and prices.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
In general we start with Thumbtack, then emails, then it is always good to either meet or have a phone conversation to go over all the details and options. Then we send a contract using Adobe Sign services (no need to print, fill, and scan). We don't require deposits, we do the job, then edit it, we send you the proofs, apply changes, then request full payment before sending all the download links. Which means that we do 99% of the work before asking for payment. We also keep back-ups and store files on the cloud, until we are sure you got your copy.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Me, personally, I have a 30 year experience with audio, video, and photo production. Holding a mic or a lens is almost the same feeling. I know well all the production tools, analog and digital. And I carefully select people in my team to be sure they will comply with the DeNoise Studios quality. We will pay attention to details for a big multi day corporate convention as well as a 1 hour birthday party.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I am a musician, I write, compose, and play guitar, mostly bossanova and classical music. Since the 80's I got interested in digital recording and editing, I then expanded to the video and photo world because in the digital world the tools are pretty similar, like equalizing a sound track or color correcting some videos or photos. I grew up in France, I spent a few years in Israel, Morocco, and in the US since 1998. I know well different cultures and languages, it helped me develop a good artistic approach.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Since 1998, I have completed more than 6000 jobs, corporate, small business, academic, sport, art performances, politics, churches, schools, animals. I worked with Google, Facebook, Twitter, the FBI, many cities, as well as individuals to cover all their life events.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We cover many different projects. Audio, video, or photo projects. Some simple, others very elaborate. Some people want filming only, others editing only. Some projects require simply documenting, others a full production. I am particularly fond of full production where it lets us use our artistic skills, in pre-production and writing a script, choosing actors and a staff, filming with camera, audio and lighting specialists, and then full editing. There is a unique good feeling in completing an entire project. Life is art.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look at the price but look also at - the experience - how many projects were completed - how many times they were hired - how many good reviews - home studio or real studio - insured or not - good terms or not - compare equipment specs - check samples - have a real conversation (meet or phone) - editing iterations - final delivery and turnaround - back ups and more

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think about your exact needs - how many continuous hours on site - exact locations - understand different equipment qualities - provide comparable samples of what you expect - check for permits and insurance - reply to us, we pay a lot of money to Thumbtack to send these quotes - Negotiate the price only if you are sure you want to hire us - Mutual respect even if we don't know each other - And remember that all the vendors you contact for one job will pay a big amount of money to Thumbtack for that privilege. Don't waste these resources, and please provide us with the right feedback even if you don't hire us, that will help us improve services and prices. Thanks
