Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer several levels of service, from just handling the live streaming portion of an event to YouTube or Zoom, to complete end-to-end production including cameras, audio, lighting, video switching, encoding and distribution on one of our white-label webcast platforms.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We learn what the client needs to achieve, then make recommendations based on both their input and budget.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Starting as a cameraman, Mike attended workshops at Valencia Community College and the International Television and Video Association. He later attended the International Film and Television Workshops (now Maine Media Workshops) in Rockport, Maine. He has worked professionally in live network television since 1999 and exclusively in live streaming since 2017.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Producing videos has been a lifetime passion, starting in elementary school. While working for Amtrak, Mike produced numerous videos and became more involved in corporate production before setting out on his own in 1998.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Customers have varied from small, family businesses to some of the largest corporations in the country. We regularly work with senior leadership of companies, as well as event and meeting planners. In 2020, we served clients in North, Central and South America, Europe, Australia, and several Asian countries.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Our projects usually are no more than one to three days when working on location. Virtual projects are usually one or two days. Pre-production time can vary greatly depending on our involvement in the live stream. Most events start planning 4-8 weeks in advance, with some much longer and some next day.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Try to find someone that has experience in both video production and live streaming, not streaming alone. You want someone that not only can solve the technical issues, but knows what to look for during the production to ensure an end-to-end quality webcast.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Many of our clients have never live streamed an event before, and because each project is different, I suggest they write their questions down so we have the opportunity to answer them. We'll also offer suggestions based on their needs. By taking time to listen to our clients, we can prepare a budget that never costs more than planned.
