What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have always tried to charge industry standard prices even with expensive cinema quality equipment. First and foremost is the customer and the video, so I’m always willing to negotiate pricing for projects the customer is excited about.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to get a clear understanding of exactly what they want. And then allow ideas to flow and bounce things back and forth before arriving the day of for the shoot.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I grew up watching movies every night. And when I realized it was possible to make my own, I didn’t hesitate to jump all in and see where it took me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Any and all kinds. Dozens of industries across multiple states. That’s the best part of the job in my opinion. Meeting new people and helping them bring whatever ideas, projects, or story to the screen in unique and captivating ways.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I shot a local short film. From building an entire set from nothing, working with a talented and passionate team, and spending all day working to tell a story we loved was incredible.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find someone that communicates well. Works to create what you want, not what they want for you. And ultimately makes your experience enjoyable. Quality is born of relationships.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Experience on that particular shoot. Mistakes they’ve made and how they’ve learned. Every videographer and photographer will show you their perfect shots. But knowing how they failed prior and learned from it shows they have a mindset of growth which is crucial when time to capture content is limited.
