Introduction

My name is Nick and I'm a videographer, a photographer, graphic designer, animator, and business owner. I run a company called Taureau Media Group. We specialize in video, but have a very strong photo division as well. We make event videos, video advertisements, looping background videos for websites, commercial photography, and wedding photo & video. I've been running this company for 9 years, and I founded the company the same year I graduated high school. I began my professional video career with a small 4K Sony camcorder, and have evolved into Netflix-approved Sony Cinema Cameras and premium Sony G-Master and Zeiss lenses. 4K video, high-megapixel photos, and premium optics have been a priority for me since the beginning. We have worked with many small businesses and individuals to create an attractive digital presence or preserve a priceless memory. If you need uncompromisingly beautiful images for your business or personal life, Taureau Media is here to deliver!

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to schedule a phone call, talk about why you need our services, ask about the environment we're stepping into, and discuss a brief plan. On the day of the shoot, we arrive early, set-up quickly, and create amazing images with our equipment. If you're a little camera shy, all Taureau associates have experience on set, and we are very patient and encouraging behind the camera. If you botch a few takes, or stumble over a particular part, we will coach you through it from behind the lens.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I founded my company when I was 18 and started working with customers right off the bat. I'm 27 now, and I have 9 years of in the field experience. As a former camera equipment salesman, I have an impressive arsenal of cinema caliber equipment, and a deep understanding of every nut and bolt. I was formally trained at American Graphics Institute and became an expert on the Adobe Creative Cloud Programs in 2019.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My experience with cameras spans my entire life. I've been playing with cameras for as long as I can remember. There is footage somewhere of 4 year old Nick showing off his new train set. My first paid gig was at the age of 14. I got paid $1,000 to film part of a skateboard video. I founded my video production company when I was 18 and have been working directly with video customers for over 7 years.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with a wide variety of people. I have worked with normal people that need photos for their living room, I've worked with world famous hip-hop artists like Inspectah Deck (Wu-Tang Clan) I've worked with doctors, restaurant owners, advertising agencies, fitness entrepreneurs, hockey leagues, and lots of other people and entities. Whether your imagery need is for your living room, or a billboard, Taureau Media is up for the task!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of my more recent projects I thoroughly enjoyed was a wedding video on the MS Mt. Washington Cruise Ship on Lake Winnipesaukee. This ship was a staple of my childhood, and Weirs Beach is the home of some of my best memories. The bride & groom shared the same passion for the region, and we're so thankful they hired a videographer that understood why the ship is so significant. This gig also lined up my first feature film, which will be a documentary about the ship.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
The equipment is extremely important. Not just owning it, but knowing what pieces of equipment need to be used at certain times, and most importantly, why. Before every shoot, I pack my bag based on the circumstances. Being a former camera equipment salesman, I know my gear, why I own it, and when to use particular pieces of equipment. I have a professional photo-centric camera for stills, and a Netflix approved cinema camera for video. I have strobe lighting, and continues lighting. I maintain some separation from the photo video world, and respect the fact that they are different crafts. I wouldn't use my cinema camera to take pictures. A lot of my competitors are photographers that are dipping their toe in this business. Photo & video are similar, but completely different trades. I admit that video is my specialty, and I admit that photography comes second. In my opinion, the video/movie/television world is insanely complex, and a much more difficult trade than photography. Most movies have at least 10+ on set assistants, because it's almost impossible for one person to run the whole show.
