Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Many services start with a baseline hourly or daily rate. Once we determine the scope of work or scale of your project, we can create a budget for you. Most projects are not a "one size fits all" price. Many variables and your needs must be considered to be fair to you or your business.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to get to know the client and one's needs and goals with any project - large or small. Creating a realistic budget in video, photo, and sound media projects requires a thorough understanding of your goals and deliverables. I like to discuss your needs and make sure we're helping you succeed in your potential project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
University of Oklahoma B.A., Multidisciplinary Studies Concentration in Film and Video Studies. 28 years of experience in the fields of video, film, photography, and sound mediums. From commercial to corporate sets - entertainment to documentaries and education, Gossett Productions has worked with many producers and crews across the US and worldwide.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Beginning at the young age of 12, the beginnings started in sound production for my local elementary school. Film and video experience then joined sound and motion pictures together, painting with light. Since that time, Gossett Productions, LLC began and is now nearing 30 years in business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All varieties of projects in scope and scale: Commercial and corporate film producers in television and video, documentaries, magazine photography, portraits, headshots, sound recording, mixing, and mastering projects.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We shot one of my highlight film projects in Super 16 film on the Arriflex camera. The project was for the Duncan Economic Development Foundation (sample portfolio clip attached). This project took about 4 days to shoot in principle photography, and 2 weeks to edit and post produce.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Research all your options, and find the right fit for you. Do your homework and study each company's demo reel to determine they are the style you are looking for. We all specialize and have unique styles, and what may be right for one client might not be right for another.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think about the scope of work you are trying to achieve, and communicate the scale of the type of project you are looking for. Identifying a budget will help someone give you a realistic quote. Oftentimes, the best way is to call and find out if the company can provide you a quote within budget.
