Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We'll get acquainted over the phone or Skype, and on the day of the shoot, I'll show up ready to work. Afterwards, I'll be in contact via email with a link to your photo gallery, or prints (if applicable to the project).

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
✔️ 13 years of real-world business working with photo/video clients ✔️ Trained in photojournalism at the University of Georgia ✔️ FAA-licensed drone pilot ✔️ Regularly attend industry conferences for my line of work

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Many. I am an internationally-published fashion photographer, as seen in Elegant Magazine, Carolina Bride, Carmel Living and several others. I have had the distinct privilege and pleasure to photograph for some well-known brands, such as Fifth Third Bank, Hilton Hotels, Scooter's Coffee and LOWES, in addition to influencers within various industries.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I am proud of every wedding. What most people don't realize is it's not just the 8 hours the photographer is there on the wedding day. Most photographers have to spend 20+ hours later editing to make the end result you see!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Ask yourself these very important ❓questions: ❓"Do they have a professional website?" ✔️ I do: Robertburnsiiwedding dot com. ❓"Have they ever shot MY type of event before?" ✔️ I only take paid work for jobs I have done before, and can consistently do. ❓"Do they understand how to get the right lighting and best angles?" ✔️ The question is, really look at their work and see if they understand how to do photography and videography properly. ❓Regarding drone work -- "Are they LICENSED?" ✔️ I am licensed and certified by the FAA to fly drones commercially. You may not know this, but you actually need a license to do this. ❓ "Do they maintain insurance?" ✔️ Think about it. If they don't, and they crash a drone into the building, or worse, a person --- who's insurance will pay? Robert Burns II Photography & Videography maintains proper licensing AND insurance for every job. These are the types of things to think about! :)

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
We all want the cheapest price, yes. I know. But really LOOK at what you're GETTING for that cheapest price, in comparison to what else is out there. Please make the decision for yourself. You might be offered a cheaper price, but this is a serious question: - Will you actually receive back your wedding photos? - Is your cheaper photographer running a legitimate business?
