Introduction

DF Production Services is a turn key video production provider based out of Knoxville TN. Whether you need just need crew or full - fledged project development, start to finish, we have your back. We specialize in speed and diversity and our work reflects it. Quirky, serious, or fun, we approach each project from an understanding of the client and audience. No cookie cutter, all custom. While we're experienced in a huge range of content and video production, we especially love producing music and narrative oriented films. Some of our most creative, invested work has gone into our music videos. Plus, it's always a genuinely amazing time meeting bands and working with them to develop something that reflects their style and music. While we don't produce nearly as many as we'd like, narrative films and shorts are huge focus of our creativity. Our goal moving forward as a creative team is to transition more of our general focus to narrative and original content production. We enjoy telling other people's stories, but with experience, we're starting to take swings at our own stories.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Every project is unique, so our pricing has to be too. We generally base our pricing off of the length of deliverables and how much time our videographers need to be on location. Our day rate for commercial production is $1050 and includes our company's entire gear set as well as a videographer and production manager on site for up to 10 hours. Our half-day rate is $650 for up to 5 hours on site. Editing rates can be flexible as well but our base rate is $50/hour. Please reach out to us and discuss your project with us so we can accurately put together a quote based on the scope of your project.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Communication is key. Once we begin a relationship with a new client, we try to keep the lines of communication as open as possible. Every project we take on is unique and we want to cater to the clients' distinct wants and needs. A Pre Production meeting, whether in person or via phone, is vital. We want the client to feel confident that are going to provide the exact end product they want and feel comfortable discussing changes in scope as they may occur. This is a creative process, so let's have fun!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Since production technology and standards are constantly changing, we're continually updating our knowledge. Our staff at DF Production Services regularly use and train on a wide variety of camera systems including Blackmagic, Sony, Panasonic, and RED. We further strive not to limit ourselves to any set of skills. If a client needs a piece of equipment or a production process that we're not familiar with, we jump to undertake research and prepare ourselves so that every production runs seamlessly.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I began toying with video production in my youth. As I moved through my education, I took on larger projects and joined new sets. As soon as I was capable of acquiring my first cinema camera, I was hooked. I have a love for technology which pushes me to test the limits of what I can create as a video artist. I'm constantly striving to expand and refine my abilities and style - DF Production Services is the expression of those efforts.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
DF Production Services has worked with all kinds of customers for all kinds of projects. We've developed customer testimonials and case studies for software and financial services firms. We've created training materials for transportation and education companies. We've shot weddings, festivals, conferences, and shows - and we love it this way! New projects always keep the job interesting. We're full-spectrum production company, so even if we haven't tackled a particular niche of production, we're certain we can pull from something in our experience to knock it out of the park.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Some of our favorite work is advertising commercial work. We recently tackled three television commercial spots for one of our southeastern clients. The project was in pre-production for a month, during which casting, writing, and planning were completed. Those efforts allowed us to shoot all three spots within a single production day, which minimized cost for our client. Post production took less than a month, and three, fully developed 30 second spots were delivered on time, and on budget.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Talk to us! Quotes can be vague and we may not get all the necessary information from the request to accurate quote your project. Check out our sample videos and reviews, and if you like us, give us a call! We are happy to amend any quote we send once we get a better grasp of your needs. You will probably have an overwhelming number of responses, try not to let that bog you down. Take the time to look through your suiters, and don't jump on the fastest response or the cheapest one. Find the best fit for you and your company.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
We are always happy to chat to learn about your project and so you can learn about our team. Before we can properly quote you, there are a few questions we will need answered. What's your budget? A project can range from minuscule to astronomical. Formulate an idea of how much you want to budget for your project so we can offer you services that will fit into your range. We can always scale up or scale back depending on your needs. What's your timeline? If you need the shoot to happen on a set date, the sooner we know the easier it is to book. It also helps if you let us know if you need the final product delivered in a set amount of time. Contract videographers can have pretty hectic schedules, so we want to make sure we have time worked into our schedule to get you your end product in time. These are the two major components we like to tackle before moving forward with a project; it provides a strong frame to work within. From there, we can help you achieve your project goals while staying within your set parameters.
