What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing varies according to the job. You can expect 125 per hour. This usually does not include prints or downloads. It's important to contact us to make sure that we can give you the best deal for your session.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The typical process for working with new customers is identifying the needs of the customer through a free consultation. Because there are so many components to a photoshoot, prices may be less. So we want to make sure all areas are covered so the customer and photographer know exactly what is expected.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We have been shooting since 2000. Never any formal training in photography, but all training acquired has been through experience and mentors.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

The first time I picked up a camera I was 5yr. old. It was my birthday present. The pictures were shot on what looked like a disposable camera with a disk of film. The pictures looked horrible and were all underexposed and blurry. After that first one, I only used it to see through the viewfinder. I think since then I have always been a photographer.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Customer service is the most important part of my business. The product will get there. We can shoot, its just making sure that the customer has the product they want. There are some situations where there are no retakes and it must be captured on the first shot. Although there can be many factors and elements of disruption, there are those times that make for an awe-inspiring shot. We have worked with real estate agents, models, families, engaged, married, mother's, father's, children, and elderly.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We worked a modeling photo shoot that got the model chosen out of 397 other girls because she had great headshots.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I will always tell customers that just because someone buys a camera, does not mean that he or she is a photographer. Understanding lighting and composition is crucial in photography. There is a difference between a snapshot and well thought out planned photograph.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Have something in mind. Give a good description of what you expect from the photography. Some important things to consider is the post-production. For many photographers, the post-production is the most time-consuming. The actual photography session always seems to go faster. After photographs are collected its sifting through hundreds of photographs and choosing the most impressive to produce. Giving the photographer the right amount of time to work through these will allow for better results.
