What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We try to be as flexible as possible with our client's pricing but we also know what's realistic based off project expectations. Our prices are always fair and assessed based off of all that you're asking for. We will work with you to give you top quality based on whatever budget constraints you may have.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We always want to have a chat with a new customer as soon as possible. We will go over all the details of your project to completely understand what you are in need of. We'll discuss budget, equipment, personnel, concept, locations, times, dates, and any other criteria that your unique project requires. From there, we will give periodic updates and check-ins to ensure that everything is on schedule and according to plan. All in all, our goal is to alleviate the stress of figuring out how to make the project happen. It's our job to focus on that. We work in tandem with our clients to assist them throughout the whole project because we know it can be overwhelming.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our team members are college educated with degrees in their field that relate to their jobs. Cinematography, sound design, editing, producing...and more important than that, all of us have years of experience working on both professional, independent and collegiate level projects. Some of us work for feature-films and television productions, some of us work for national commercial productions, and some of us have won awards for our own personal creative projects. Every team member brings a level of knowledge and experience unique from the others, but all of us share the same thread of having a passion for video/film.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
RFM is a collective of friends who went to college together and realized that we had more creative power and potential if we worked together. We have all worked with each other for years now, on all types of projects, beginning with student short films and now rising all the way to feature-length productions. We have won several film festival awards, and our projects have shown at: The Music Box, AMC River East-21, Navy Pier's Shakespeare Theatre, and Chicago's PBS-WTTW.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We've worked with non-profits, professional businesses, political organizations, documentarians, filmmakers, musical artists, wedding planners, DJ's, religious institutions, managers of all kinds of companies, acrobats, animals, children...we've worked with all types of cultures and ethnicities...Jewish, Greek Orthodox, Nigerian, Indian-American, Sikh, Muslim, Irish Catholic, Mexican Catholic, Puerto-Rican, Cuban...we've interviewed Obama personnel, worked with mayors and congressmen, CEO's of Engineering and Manufacturing companies...if you want a full list of all the clients we've worked with just ask us. We'll be happy to provide you with it.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
You need to hire someone who truly understands your needs and desires. You want someone that will truly care what your project is and they are determined to make sure that it is everything it can be.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Details, details, details. The more you know about what you want, the better we can deliver it to you. If you want us to come up with the concept or structure of your project for you, that's no problem at all, but we want to ensure that the client is getting what they expect and that they'll be happy with the final project. So, it is imperative that you know everything possible about what you'll need from us so that we can accurately use our talent and expertise.
