What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My goal is to set the most reasonable price. My pricing is based on the amount of work that needs to be done. The workload is evaluated between what needs to be done and how long it would take me to complete the work.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically I prefer the customer to have a lot of the planning already worked out. Planning a project can be costly, so I would like for the customer to have a strong idea about what they want so I can work quickly. They should also have the following worked out. -Size and Resolution -When is it due

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I spent 3 years working toward my Bachelor's in Animation. My time at college included going to the Academy of Art University and the Art Institute of Virginia Beach. Since then I have been involved in doing Video Editing for non-profit organizations like We Love U foundation, content creation on YouTube and other social media, and various freelance work.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started out in college, networking with people who want to have projects done. Mostly in school. Then I expanded out to other jobs for clients online.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Mostly customers that wanted logos and videos.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The big thing you have to remember is that this work takes time and skill. It's not a fast process and takes a lot of practice. It's important to provide feedback and have as clear as possible how you want your project to look. Vague instruction adds to the time and difficulty of the task and can affect the pricing of your project because the professional has to take on more time and research. Just filtering through material alone can take hours depending on what the client is looking for.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

When do I need this done by, and how long will it take? Do I have clear vision of what the end product should look like? If I'm willing to let the professional figure out the look, am I willing to allow the end product to come out differently than I expect? Are there any references I can provide to help make the process easier? What's a reasonable test edit if I ask for one? This project may require a lot of back and forth communication, can I manage keeping a report during the process?
