Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Instead of having cookie-cutter "packages," I create custom proposals after getting to know the couple well. I also focus on documenting, not only the wedding day, but the days prior, when family and friends get together to celebrate before the wedding.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
During our initial phone call, I listen carefully and ask questions to understand your vision, likes and dislikes, and background. Then I create a custom proposal to make the entire process fit you.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have over 15 years of experience working with all types of scenarios, lighting conditions, locations, and personalities!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I first discovered my love for photography in New York, but it wasn't until I shot my first wedding over 14 years ago that it became more than a hobby. After enduring an office job for what felt like an eternity, I needed something new. So I moved my family to St. Kitts and Nevis for a while, simplified my life, and started shooting weddings full time. It was the scariest, most liberating thing I ever did.  I became a full time storyteller.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Since I love variety, I've worked with all types of couples...American, Asian, Indian, Hispanic, wealthy, the not-so-wealthy, pilots, teachers, farmers, you name it.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently shot a 3 day event on the islands of St. Kitts and Nevis. It was gorgeous!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Align with a photographer that shares your vision, goals, and shows sincere, personal interest. Read through his/her reviews! And of course, you must feel their work!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Since our photos will be with us for years to come, how high should we place our photographer on the priority list before spending? For example, if our entire wedding budget is $40,000, where will my spending begin? The things that matter the most should come first, and then proceed down as the priority lessens. Will you remember the catering 20 years from now, or the photos?
