Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing will always include the total package, start to finish, concept to completion. Any additional requests that are agreed on will be added to the initial quote.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I speak with a client to understand best what they really want to see, then offer ideas that supplement their core message or concept to ensure it is their voice that is being heard. I take a cinematic approach to my work, and I am proud to have knowledge of real filmmaking to use all the tools available in making the best product possible.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I’ve worked on film and television sets as a technician for over 10 years with some of the biggest actors and directors in today’s industry, all while creating my own passion projects on the side. I also graduated with a degree in film studies and creative writing from UNCW in 2004 which gave me great background for critically approaching video and movie watching, and filmmaking in general.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started as a screenwriter in college and quickly developed into my own filmmaker as I wanted to be able to communicate my visions to the screen. Through that desire I have learned camera work, editing, and directing as a leader to help guide others to understand what the final vision is. Gaining the trust of others and having them see things the way you want them is not always easy, but that challenge has brought me to some of the best friendships and working relationships anyone could ask for. I truly love telling stories, and what better way than to put it on screen for the audience to feel the message you hope to communicate and pass along.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Musicians, hotel owners, gym owners, historical foundations, design companies, lighting installation companies, product designers, apparel distributors. All kinds!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently, I shot a music video for a talented musician, Annika Winberg, whom I met by chance in an Uber pool, but once I heard her music - thought it would be great to work with her and make a video. The experience turned out to be one of the best I’ve had in making a music video, or any video for that matter. Her music has meaning and a great positive message. I truly enjoyed the experience, and happy to call Annika one of my good buddies now!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure they listen to your vision, and enhance it the way you want to see it.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Who do you want to watch this video? Where do you want to have it presented (web, social media, private function, tv, theater, etc...)? What’s the overall message/theme?
