Introduction

--------PLEASE READ BEFORE CHECKING OUR AVAILABILITY---------- Please view my work at sfmediaprod.com. Thumbtack asks pros for their website, but they don't actually show it to customers because they want you to stay on their site. Unfortunately, Thumbtack does not offer any video hosting options, which makes it a terrible platform for showing my work. ALSO: Thumbtack charges each vendor a SIGNIFICANT fee as soon as you contact us. We request that you please carefully check profiles, reviews, samples, prices, and contact only the vendor or vendors you feel are the right match. Also, please make sure that you are submitting your project information correctly so that you're not matched with someone who cannot fulfill your request and they're charged a fee as a result. Thank you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm a New England-based video creator/marketer offering professional-level services including video production, video editing, animation, motion graphics, live event videography, corporate videography, interviews, and more. In addition to creating video, I also offer consultation for video marketing. I help clients build short and long-term strategies for using the power of the medium most effectively toward their desired results. This includes training for content creators in multiple fields to produce their own work. I am also available for hire as an on-location production crew member as a Director/AD, camera operator or production assistant. I shoot with a Sony FX3, A7sII and a6300 with multiple lensing options, and own all my own professional stability, audio, and lighting gear. I love telling visual stories, and I bring that passion into every one of my projects. I work hard to keep my skills sharp and stay up to date on the latest workflows and equipment innovations. I maintain a solid network of trusted fellow video and audio pros with a diverse range of skill sets. We can accommodate whatever your project requires. Also, I'm a nice, easy-going guy and enjoy having fun with my work!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I pride myself on being an affordable option for those looking for professional level video production services comparable in quality to that of an agency or full-scale production company, but with a fraction of the cost. That said, I am also experienced in facilitating projects that require a larger scale production and crew. Prices may vary depending on the project, but my average rate to come out and shoot is typically $1200/full day (5-10 hours) and $600/half day (anything up to 5 hours). My rates to edit is $1000/full day and $500/half day. Overtime is $100/hour. Travel time also incurs a fee of $40 every hour beyond the first hour of travel.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First, I like to make sure I have every detail in order and fully understand the logistics of the project. This is most often accomplished with a phone call, where I'll take notes on location, date, hours, gear requirements, logistics, all the moving parts, etc. If my client is still working on the vision for the project and needs my consultation on how to best accomplish their goals through video, I make it a priority to understand what my clients needs are, and use my education and experience in video marketing and advertising to help them formulate a game plan to hit their marks. Every project and client is different, but typically we'd discuss format, placement, demographics, and narrative. For applicable projects, we put an emphasis on outlining and storyboarding as part of the pre-production process. Doing this work before a shooting date is critical to maximizing budget and making sure our idea works on paper first.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
While in high school, I attended an after school film school in Lynn, MA called Real to Reel, a division of RAW Art Works. There I learned all the rudiments of film-making, from screenplay crafting, to camera, lighting, audio, editing, all of it. I made my first videos there, and my education at RAW was extremely valuable to my future development into a full-time professional. After graduating RAW in 2010, I moved on to college at Salem State University. I majored in media productions and double-minored graphic design and music. There I built on my film skillset with studio production and short film writing, while also picking up valuable skills in advertising, marketing, media, graphic design, and VFX. In truth, though I graduated college in 2015, I am constantly learning and improving upon my skillset outside of formal schooling, making sure to stay on top of the ever changing production industry and efficient workflows. You can learn anything on the internet these days!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Upon graduating college, despite my highly diverse skillset I had a very hard time attaining gainful employment, like many in my generation. I decided it was best to simply employ myself and dived into freelancing headfirst. My business has been steadily growing, and I haven't looked back since.
