Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is designed to offer great value while maintaining professional quality. All packages are customizable based on your event needs. I offer bundle discounts when booking both photography and videography together. Travel fees may apply for events outside the NYC/NJ area, but I always communicate that in advance. No hidden fees—everything is discussed upfront. I also offer flexible payment options, including deposits to secure the date and balance due by the event day.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
1. Once a new client reaches out, I start by learning about their vision, the type of event or shoot, and any specific requests they have. 2. I’ll then suggest a package or customize one to fit their needs 3. After confirming the details, we sign a simple contract and arrange a deposit to lock in the date 4. On the day of the shoot, my goal is to capture moments naturally and professionally, and after the event, I deliver the edited content within the promised timeline.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I’ve developed my skills through hands-on experience shooting a wide range of events, from weddings and birthdays to corporate gatherings and lifestyle shoots. Over the years, I’ve taken courses in cinematography, editing, lighting, and color grading to sharpen my craft. I also stay up to date with the latest gear and techniques through continuous learning, workshops, and real-world projects that challenge my creativity and technical ability.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started out with a passion for storytelling and visual creativity. What began as a hobby—filming and photographing friends, events, and local moments—quickly turned into a professional journey. I invested in better equipment, built up a portfolio, and began working with clients who appreciated my style and attention to detail. Over time, I realized how powerful capturing memories can be, and that motivated me to turn this into a full-time career.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with a wide range of customers — from couples celebrating weddings, engagements, and anniversaries, to families hosting birthdays and graduations, to business owners organizing corporate events and brand shoots. I’ve also worked with beauty salons, models, and influencers who needed high-quality content for social media. Every client is different, and I always adapt my approach to match their needs and vision.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One project I really enjoyed was a birthday and event shoot I did in March. It was a 6-hour coverage at a beautiful venue, and the energy throughout the event was amazing — from emotional speeches to fun dancing moments. I captured a mix of portraits, candid shots, and short video clips. The editing process, including color grading and polishing, took about a week. In the end, I delivered over 200 edited photos and a short highlight video. The client was super happy with the results, and I felt proud seeing how well the story came together visually. I captured both posed portraits and natural interactions throughout the day. The editing process took about 7-10 days, including delivering a highlight video and around 200+ professionally edited photos. The couple was thrilled with the final result, and it reminded me why I love telling real stories through my lens.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look beyond just price — focus on quality, consistency, and communication. Ask to see full galleries or sample videos, not just highlight reels on Instagram. Make sure the style matches what you’re envisioning. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions about equipment, editing timelines, and what’s included in the package. A good photographer or videographer should guide you through the process and make you feel comfortable — not just show up and shoot. Lastly, chemistry matters — it’s important to hire someone you vibe with, especially for personal events like weddings or birthdays. It makes a big difference in how natural and fun the experience feels.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
It helps to think about a few key things before reaching out: What’s your budget? Having a general idea helps narrow down options. What’s the schedule or timing? Be clear on start times, locations, and how many hours you’ll need. What style do you like? Look at samples and save references so you can explain the vibe you’re going for — candid, cinematic, classic, etc. What do you expect in delivery? (Photos only? Highlight video? Raw footage? Turnaround time?) How important is this event to you? The more special the moment, the more experienced the professional should be. Being prepared with these answers helps us give better quotes and suggestions from the beginning!
