Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I only charge one time, one number. There aren’t any additional fees. The quote I provide is covering pre, production and post and everything that involves. I provide first time customers with a discount.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The first type is to find out what type of video they’re looking for and why. I think it’s important to understand all of the different factors that could make this a successful video before we hit the record button. From that point, I will delve deeper with the client to find out exactly what they want this project to look like, and I will create a shot list and general pre production plan with their help. During production I will also be utilizing your help to get creative shots and good coverage. And finally, during post production I like to share the video several times before exporting it to ensure we’re on the same page.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Four high school classes in video production, photography, animation and mixed media. Three years of field experience in videography.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
In middle school I made Star Wars films. In high school I took four consecutive years of photography, videography and/or animation classes and loved every second of it. When I first got into the real world, one of my first jobs was a videographer for a gym equipment company. I really enjoyed this, but strayed away from videography for a time later down the road. However, I was always drawn back to videography and whatever I was doing. And that’s when I decided to make it my career.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with gyms, couples, small and medium companies, event coordinators, freelancers, e-commerce brands, brick and mortar business and startups.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of my favorite projects is the S13 & S14 drifting film we created. This was shot entirely at Harris Hill Raceway in San Marcos, TX. Between the exhilarating driving, action shots and incredible lighting conditions, it was one of those shoots where we worked really hard, and the shots came out better than even I could have imagined.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Do your due diligence when looking to hire a media team, videographer or production agency. It’s important that their portfolio or work demonstrates passion and attention to detail. I think it's also important to have a personable connection with the video creator to ensure a good work relationship!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Why do you want a video? What is your timeline for the video? What is your budget for this video production? How long would you like your video to be? What elements do you want to see in post-production? Who is your target audience? If this video performs exactly how you want it to, what does that mean for you or your business?
