Introduction

Please note that I am currently only accepting online students who are available on weekday mornings/early afternoon eastern time. I offer world class training to all who are ready to work on their craft. I mold my lessons to fit what each individual student needs at that point in her development. There is always space to experiment, make lots of mistakes, and try something completely new in my studio! My teaching values revolve around creating and nurturing a healthy, efficient singing technique while inspiring an honest emotional expressiveness in performance. Specializing in classical and musical theater styles, I have helped my students succeed in auditioning for local productions, competitions, and collegiate music programs. My students can be seen on stage singing lead roles in school and community productions. I love watching a student discover his or her voice as the learning process develops. It is so rewarding to help them reach that point when they feel connected to their most honest and easy artistic expression. It's so meaningful to give my students the tools to sing freely and sincerely.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My rate is subject to change, but is currently $100/hour.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Please contact me through thumbtack with your interests and goals around voice lessons. From there I am happy to answer all questions and concerns about starting lessons together. I am also happy to have a brief Zoom call to see if we would be a good fit. If we are, we schedule our first lesson together!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Florida and a Master of Music from the Longy School of Music. I also continue to study with a private teacher and coach; one never stops learning in this art form!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I opened my private studio after finished graduate school in 2016. I have slowly built my studio since then by word of mouth and online resources. I am happy to now join the Thumbtack community and meet more students who are ready to learn to sing!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with singers of all ages and levels. From complete novice to those who have already completed college music degrees, I love working with students at all stages of development. It is never too late to start making music!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I am very excited about a recital I am currently preparing with two of my colleagues. It will feature the music of a wonderful, but little known, Croatian composer. Once public performance is safe again, I'll be excited to share this recital with my community!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Be sure to find a teacher who both nurtures and challenges your abilities. Singing is a very personal activity which can make many of us feel 'exposed'. Finding a teacher who provides a safe place for you to make all of the mistakes and new sounds you need to grow is paramount. It's important that you understand their style of communication and vice versa. There are a lot of excellent teachers out there, but none of them are one size fits all!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Learning to sing, like learning any instrument, requires dedicated practice and a lot of patience. Are you willing to commit the necessary time and energy to regular lessons and practice? How many times per week/month do you want to meet for lessons? What are your singing goals? What style of singing are you most interested in pursuing?
