Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing reflects my education and experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
New students should prepare something to sing for me and bring a minus track to sing with. They should also have a recording device to record their lessons.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Vocal Music Degree and I have certified in Mix. I am also a member of NATS and IVTOM, associations for teachers of singing.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have sung publicly since I was three years old. Majoring in music seemed like a natural way for me to go. I sang in many styles, but initially wasn't sure how to teach in all styles. Now that I have certified in mix, I can successfully teach all vocal styles.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with children 10 yrs old up to 70. Depending on vocal maturity, children should start taking voice as soon as possible. If a parent feels like their child is vocally mature under 10 years old I will audition them. Students 18-30 seem to be drawn to my studio where they can add nuance to their voices and learn to become artists and record and release. I'm able to help them navigate the vocal world and give them the tools needed to do music at whatever level they choose. I also love working with young Mom's and dad's who are finally fulfilling their dreams. It is never too late!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Making vocalists truly become artists is what I do best. Adding grit, growl and scream to your voice will set you apart from other vocalists Preparing students to record and release covers and promote themselves is my greatest reward .

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for someone who has both education and experience. it is hard to find, but worth it in the end. The teachers that helped me the most fell under that umbrella. They were able to give me the technique needed and the performance advice to be a successful performer.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
They should ask what style do I want to sing? if they want all styles they should look for a teacher with that kind of vocal training, certifications etc. Too many students work with classical teachers when they really want pop and musical theater. It's really tragic!
