Introduction

I specialize in making partner dancing easy for ANYONE to learn. My 13 years in this profession have brought me people from all ages and walks of life and have taught me to be able to easily adapt to different learning styles and truly personalize your learning experience. I love seeing how Dance can benefit people in all areas of their lives. It's a great low-impact exercise with countless physical and emotional benefits! I've seen people gain confidence, get in shape, make new friends, and fill their social calendars!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The best way to discuss prices is to schedule a FREE 45 minute consultation. You can take a tour of the studio, and it gives me a chance to get to know you a bit, and it gives you a chance to tell me what you're really looking for in your dance program. I want to be able to cater your program to your own personal needs and budget. I keep my rates very affordable, so ANYONE can learn.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to meet with my students before we get started with our lessons, so I can get to know them and their goals a bit. Once we have our first lesson, I start with basic foundations and elements of dancing that will make up all of our patterns, and we go from there!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I trained, certified, and competed with Arthur Murray International, which is the top ballroom dance franchise in the world. It’s the Harvard of Ballroom Dance. I worked there for almost 3 years and every day I was completely immersed in training for both my profession and competition. I was a top 20 instructor in the world in 2010.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've had a love for dance since I can remember, but it was something that was totally unexpected as a career. I was looking for a job, and came across a career that trained me well and I found what I love - teaching people to dance!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Wedding choreography, Cruise preparation, Private and Group instruction, group choreography, social dancing, Latin dancing, country dancing, ballroom dancing, competition dancing.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Every year I am involved in a local fundraiser called Dancing With The Turlock Stars. It benefits 3 local charities and we put on a fantastic show and raise money for the community! We have 8 weeks to prepare a "star" from the community and get them ready for the show. Over the last 5 years we have raised over $600k for our local community.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
You definitely want to find someone with an excitement for teaching and passion for dancing, and can make it fun and easy to learn. Breaking down steps and techniques in an easy to understand way is very important. I offer that.
