Introduction

Students begin their lessons with me and leave each lesson feeling proud and confident in themselves. I love seeing the progress they make. When they achieve their goal is the greatest feeling for them and me.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My prices vary based on lessons purchased and the lesson length. I also offer family discounts and income based prices! Ask away!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The first thing we do is establish short term and long term goals and determine what will be attainable. We work together to get a schedule set. When we begin lessons, we start with the basics or where the student left of if they have experience. I make sure all students have the fundamentals and do patchwork where needed if the student missed anything or was not taught by a previous something that I believe should be. My students begin the the fundamentals of music theory, history, and the preferred instrument fundamentals or vocal fundamentals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelor's Degree in music education. I am obtaining my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as music performance. I have taught at private and public schools and have been doing private lessons for 8 years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My high school music teacher asked me help another student on her instrument. I just loved it so I began renting spaces at studios to teach lessons and have been ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All ages, all types, and abilities. I've worked with special needs students, hard of hearing, blind, and ages 3 to 70 years old, but generally I see ages 5 to 17 with a few adult students

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure they are in it for the music and the love of music, not for the money. It is our way of making a living, but if that person isn't in love with what they're doing, you won't get the service you deserve.
