Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Now receive one FREE 30-minute trial lesson. After that, you may choose one of two tuition packages: studio membership or individual lessons. Studio membership customers pay one flat-rate monthly tuition. Customers who pay per lesson must pay upfront for one month at a time.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
During the first few lessons, I generally do not give intense practice assignments. For the first month or so, especially for students with no prior musical training, they will not be able to effectively practice without me. So they may practice our lesson material for as little as 15 minutes or so 3 days per week.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have bachelor's and master's degrees in vocal performance, and I've been playing piano since I was seven years old. Since graduating, I've greatly honed my teaching skills by preparing students for prestigious exams and auditions, such as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and the National Piano Guild Auditions.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I fell in love with classical singing and piano music when I was about 7 years old, and I've wanted to be a part of it ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with children as young as 6 years old and as old as 50, but I'm willing to teach older. If they are respectful and open-minded, I'll teach anyone.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would tell them you may want to hear the teacher perform before you decide to take a lesson. Also, for piano and voice students, I highly recommend they have a piano or keyboard in their home. The ability to practice between lessons is extremely important.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
They should first honestly ask if their request is reasonable. Teachers can guide, but not do the actual work. Set a reasonable goal for the teacher and the student, and work as hard and fast as possible within the deadline for the project.
