Introduction

At Ben Saunders Piano and Vocal Studio, I strive to create a fun, friendly, and motivating environment. Our goal is for students to become musically independent by becoming proficient in musical technique, knowledge, expression, and performance. By participating in lessons, students will have the opportunity to learn and grow to progress toward becoming well-rounded musicians. The first consultation lesson is free!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Lesson tuition is charged monthly: • 30 min. lesson each week - $120/month • 45 min. lesson each week - $180/month • 60 min. lesson each week - $240/month

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first consultation lesson is free! In the first lesson, I assess the student’s capability to establish their skill level and areas of improvement. We also discuss any musical goals toward which they would like to work. Based on the assessment, we create an individualized, tailored plan based on the student’s strengths, learning style, and the needed areas of improvement to help them progress to achieve their goals. We also find the best lesson time based on the student’s schedule.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated with distinction from Northern Arizona University with a Masters of Music Degree and was awarded the 2020 NAU Outstanding Graduate in Master of Music. I graduated Summa cum Laude from Weber State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. I have been teaching private music lesson for over 15 years, and have taught over 100 students in total. I studied private voice with Dr. Karen Brookens, Gary Sorensen, and Marta Gutierez. I also studied private piano with Dr. Gerta Wiemar, Melinda Tall, and Misty Wiese.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I teach all ages and ability levels, whether you are just beginning or have been singing or playing for years. I have also worked with all personality types, from students that are very outgoing, as well as students who are more quiet and reserved. All students have the ability to become well-rounded musicians.
