Introduction

I love to teach and to learn with my students. My passion for music and growth has helped me connect with hundreds of students over the last 25 years. As a people person with a joyful heart, I am easy to work with and make having fun an important part of teaching. Helping students enjoy playing is my ultimate goal. I want to equip the student with the best knowledge and best techniques so that they LOVE playing, practicing, and enjoying the art of music.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I charge $30 per hour ($25 for 45 min). If the student is out of my travel range, the rate varies on distance. I prefer to teach at the student's homes where they are most comfortable, so extra travel is not a problem, but they can come to me.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I evaluate them based on experience. If it's a beginner, start with a fun and easy book, with simple techniques and exercises. I teach with no time tables in a fun, low-pressure environment. I teach at the student's pace because each student is different and learns at different speeds. I am flexible and love to incorporate student's personal musical interests and goals into the lessons.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
As a youth director for 16 years, I have always enjoyed working with people hungry to learn and have fun with music. I spent so much of my life learning from other great musicians, I want to pass down that passion and knowledge to others. It also helps keep me well-rounded in my playing and I often learn new things from students as well.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
