Introduction

I am a passionate instructor with over 10 years experience teaching students aged 2 to 76 years old. I teach all styles, but love focusing on Pop, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Opera. I have a Masters degree in Classical Voice and Opera from The Manhattan School of Music. Outside of teaching, I am a Singer-Songwriter who regularly performs around the city. So I understand not only the joys of performing, but also how intimidating it can be (even for myself after so many years!) My teaching practice is rooted in technique first, but I also believe in the importance of having fun while singing. And I believe confidence comes naturally for the student following this. I love working with students of all ages and abilities. Whether you are embarking on your singing journey as a newcomer, or you are already an experienced performer. I believe we can unleash your talent and confidence that lie deep inside. Students of mine have been accepted into musical programs at Harvard University, Berklee College of Music, Hunter College, The Royal College of Music, The Manhattan School of Music, and many more! I have trained students for performances of all types, and secured lead roles for them in musicals, shows and Disney auditions. I would love to hear more about your goals, objectives and any questions you might have about the process. Even if it might seem daunting, that is totally normal and I am here to guide you through it! Please reach out to schedule a consultation and we will figure the rest out from there :) I‘ll be looking forward to hearing from you!

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I schedule a consultation to discuss the student’s current ability along with their goals and objectives. From there, we figure out a suitable approach along with an estimated timeline for the student. We focus on technique first: breath control, aligning the body with the voice, diaphragmatic control, pitch, rhythm and theory. Once the foundations are formed, then we focus on building confidence, introducing soul and musicality to the performance. Along with a healthy dose of fun of course :)
