Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We have ZERO registration fees! The only other fees you will experience are for lesson books which we will recommend and will range from $6-10, and for triannual recitals which will cost $20 per student or $40 per family, unless you utilize our ZMC Premium services!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We start by setting up a FREE trial lesson, getting to know each student and gauge how well we work together, then we jump into curriculum to learn their goals and how experienced they are in their music knowledge. After choosing to continue, we walk our students through curriculum that will develop both a love for music and a complete understanding of the language.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our founder, Kyle Shafer has his Bachelor of Music degree Music Education from the University of North Texas. He is thrilled to be using his degree to serve his community, and do what he loves: developing and serving other instructors and teachers. Our instructors throughout DFW are pursuing or have degrees in music which gives a detail oriented pursuit of better teaching with each lesson taught.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Our founder, Kyle Shafer grew up in a musical family and his passions for music led him to the University of North Texas to study Music Education. Upon graduation, he saw a need in the music lesson industry: Quality, passionate musical instruction, and instructor accountability. We have seen the impact that music has had on our lives and we want to see that in the next generation.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Students aged 3 to 93, students on the autism spectrum, etc.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
It is important that you know what is best for your musical journey, and we believe that it's through understanding the language of music. Would you rather be able to retell a story you've been told? Or be able to read any book that's ever been written? We believe the latter is true. Some music teachers take advantage of unknowing families and teach by rote ("repeat after me"), and this does NOT lead to any musical benefits other than being able to play one song at a time. We pride ourselves in our care for musical growth and passionate instruction. We guarantee that each of our students is receiving the best music education possible.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What does your hiring process look like? Do you offer recitals? What is your cancellation policy? What is your mission statement? What does your instructor development entail? What curriculum do you use? Do you provide any additional resources for optimal learning? We pride ourselves in our ability to answer all of these questions with what will serve you and your family best.
