Introduction

At Sage Music, we believe in helping you become the best musician and person that you can be. We personalize all of our lessons to your unique learning style and individual goals. Lessons are given in person at our music school locations or online music lessons through our own app. We're passionate about teaching, and helping our students achieve their best. That's why all of our lessons are taught using our own Arpeggio® music lesson system, which is backed by learning science. It's one of the many reasons we have such stellar students that include everyone from absolute begineers to professional broadway performers, Saturday Night Live cast members, and even Emmy award winners. We'd love to welcome you to our community, and help you achieve your musical dreams.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We know everyone's situatin is unique. So we offer three different plans to suit every need and budget. Founded by a veteran, we offer discounts to active duty, and retired veterans.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We believe in personalizing our lessons around your unique learning style and goals. Every student starts with a new student onboarding session, free of charge, where we assess your learning style, preferences, and goals. Our teachers then prepare a custom lesson plan for you, which starts right away in your first lesson. This way, you are always going to learn the music that you want, in a way that works for you.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our music school was founded by Jason Sagebiel, after he suffered a brain injury in the Iraq war. After his injury, he relearned how to play music, studied all of the science and psychology of learning, and became expert in the learning process. He has been an MTNA nationally certified teacher of music, a professor of music at the City University of New York, and has given more than 30 world premiere performances. All of Sage Music's teachers are trained in these same techniques, so that our students are guaranteed the best results. The point is, if our founder can go from years of speech therapy to playing at Carnegie Hall mulitple times using these learning strategies, you can, too.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We believe everyone can play music well, if they are just given the right tools. To that end, we have worked with everyone from absolute beginners, students with autism or learning disabilities, to amateurs and hobbyists. Because of the quality of our program, we also have high achieving students, and our alumnae include Saturday Night Live cast members, Emmy award winners, Broadway performers, and other pros.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Teaching skills are different than performing skills. Always be sure to interview your teachers about the ability to teach, to get positive results from their students, and to grow. Good players are not always good teachers.
