Hello! We are Ali and Terry with Ali's Personal Chef Service. We are a family owned and operated business located in Kennesaw, Georgia. We have had a background in the food industry for a total of 21 years. We put a lot of thought into your menu, everything from color, to texture and taste, foods should work with each other not compete. There's no enjoyment in that. We love working with a client in designing a menu for your specific event. We put our heads together in customizing your menu to suit your taste. We then love the shopping, at local stores, farmers markets and at times specialty stores. This allows me to purchase the freshest ingredients possible for the event. We focus on making the experience pleasurable and assisting in removing the stress from the planning process.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

For my catering services, each job is different based on factors such as clients budget, and type of service the client wishes. We currently accept cash, checks and credit/debit cards as forms of payments.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to meet with a new customer in person as I feel it best we meet each other, have a conversation which allows us to discuss what their vision is for either an upcoming event or my cooking in their home. By doing so we cover everything and I'm able to prepare and customize menus to suit their palate.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Having owned a catering company with my husband in the past we were successful for catering to parties both large and small

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I've been cooking since I was 15 years old, learning from my Mom who was a great cook. My husband and I had owned a catering company at Road Atlanta, a well known race track in Brasselton Ga., at any given time we would be catering 13 separate events for groups like Porsche, BMW, etc...I went back into the Corporate World for a while and after a layoff my family and friends encouraged me to go into business for myself, as all I did was to think food 24/7 and being I loved to shop, prepare and eat and entertain with food, this was right up my alley. So here I am now with my own company!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I do personal meal preparation where I go into my clients home, prepare several meals, package and put away, clean up and leave, its as if I were never there. I also cater events , from appetizer buffets to dinner buffets.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I'm proud of all my jobs where I have pleased my client...from seeing the expression on their face when seeing the presentation to tasting the food for the first time. I cook with vibrant colors and textures. Like they say....you eat with your eyes first.... This is so true.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are a few pieces of advise that comes to mind actually. -Make sure the provider is licensed and insured. This will give you peace of mind. -Reading the providers reviews are very helpful. -Meet the provider ahead of time. This let's you become acquainted and puts a face to the name.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What type of service can be afforded...drop off vs full service. Keeping in mind a drop off is just that with you actually having to do some work on your end. Full service can be more of a benefit and not for a large costs. You not only receive a nicer presentation, someone to keep table clean, food replenished and your kitchen cleaned. This allowing you to enjoy your event.
