Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Be clear about the type of experience you want to create for your guests—whether it’s intimate close-up magic, a strolling performance, or a full stage show. Pricing can vary depending on the number of guests, type of event, time of year, and location. My rates typically start around $400–$450 for smaller private gatherings and can go up to $1,200–$1,500+ for large-scale corporate or stage shows. Sharing these details early helps me tailor the experience and give you the most accurate quote possible.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
It usually starts with a quick conversation to learn more about the event—what type it is, the age group, how many people, and what kind of atmosphere you're going for. From there, I’ll recommend the best type of magic for the setting and send over a quote. Once we’re good to go, I’ll lock in the date with a deposit and show up early on the day to make sure everything runs smoothly.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
While I don’t have a formal degree in magic (those are rare!), I do have a degree from the University of Florida. I’ve spent over a decade studying close-up magic, sleight of hand, and performance psychology on my own. Most of my growth has come from real-world experience—performing hundreds of shows, refining material, and learning firsthand what truly connects with people.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started out performing small tricks at family gatherings and local restaurants. I loved seeing people’s reactions—and the way magic brings folks together. From there, it grew organically into a business I’m proud to run full-time today.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with a wide range of clients—from private birthday parties and weddings to corporate events for major brands like Lululemon and AAA. I also perform regularly for restaurants, senior communities, nonprofit events, and more.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One recent favorite was a dinner event for Dick’s Sporting Goods’ social media ambassadors. I performed table-to-table close-up magic during their awards dinner. It lasted about 90 minutes, and the client said it helped spark conversations and made the night unforgettable.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Don’t just go by price—go by experience, reviews, and how well the entertainer listens to what you want. Magic should enhance your event, not distract from it, so find someone who can read the room and adjust their performance to your vibe.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Consider what kind of experience you want your guests to have. Is it more of a mingling crowd or a seated group? How many people will be there? And are you looking for laughs, amazement, or a bit of both? Knowing those details helps me suggest the best type of performance for your event.
