Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing reflects the value of the EYD "experience"I provide, not just steps... There's a focus on fun and maintaining each couple's connection during this hectic time. - I strive to provide sessions that will de-stress the wedding planning process and curate a memorable experience you'll look back on for a lifetime. - I offer personalized, patient instruction tailored to you. - We collaborate on moves that aren’t recycled, but intentionally prepared to create a unique, NATURAL dance reflecting your relationship. I'll happily assist in ALL aspects of prepping your first dance to ensure you feel proud and prepared for what you'll share with guest.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
It's nice to establish some rapport before we get started... Learning to partner dance can be an intimate process. I offer the option to hop on a quick call or do a brief virtual meet and greet. This gives us the opportunity to introduce ourselves, and discuss your first dance goals. We review some questions and I share a bit more about my services. We discuss pricing, packages, lesson location and days of the week that work best for your schedule. Then we dance! :)

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm an X- professional dancer turned wedding instructor! I hold a BFA in dance with a concentration in choreography. I enjoyed my career as a performer and I l love my life as an instructor. I've taught many styles of dance, from ballet, to ballroom. My background includes a wide range of ages with varying disabilities, which has helped make me a versatile, thorough and effective instructor. Movement is an innate part of our being. Drawing out people's strengths, while establishing connection is the key to bringing out the dancer in all of us.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After performing at an event, an older couple approached me asking for private lessons. They didn't live in NY state, but continued to book lessons with me anytime they visited. I so enjoyed the process of teaching them that I went on to market myself for more private lessons. Eventually, I worked with a couple preparing for their wedding and that was it! I found the perfect niche!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Many of my customers are referral based. I tend to travel more than the avg wedding dance instructor. While I do charge travel fees for distances over 45 minutes, I'm happy to accommodate clients and come to them. I've even attended weddings to help couples navigate their day or do a finale run through. As a breathwork practitioner, some clients use my services to curb wedding related anxiety.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I provide clients with a questionnaire to help gather details about their wedding and specific first dance needs. Choosing between songs? Not sure how long you dance should be? What about the "style" of dance that's most fitting? I can make suggestions and assist in guiding you with those decisions. I take note of your preferences and share options so you feel supported and comfortable with the final outcome.
