Introduction

I work and strive to make others have fun. Music is something special. It is a universal language and there are so many forms of expression. My students need to have fun with what they are learning and I develop curriculum around them. That light bulb a student has over their head when they get something. I also create a curriculum based on my students wants and needs. I have been instructed by many seasonal performers throughout my years, and I have learned how to adjust myself to communicate with other musicians. I strive for my students to be well-versed and not only reading music, but also being able to pick up playing by ear , so whatever goals that you are having whether it’s to succeed in an audition, be fearless and karaoke, or audition for college or even a Broadway show or reality TV, I have the tools to guide you toward your goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I make an assessment based on the clients wants and needs. We do a crash beginner's course and I create specialized drills, and suggest appropriate curriculum for each client.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance and Music Business Management from Berklee College of Music

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've always taught while I was studying in college. It helped me be a better performer myself. I started to have work in my field, and now, I love it.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with all ages. I have worked with 5 year olds to aspiring country singers to 65 year olds. You name it, I have probably worked with them.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I have been working with a student for three years and his senior year is focusing on auditions into musical theater programs. So far, he has been accepted to three colleges and passed preliminary auditions. From someone who had no range to performing in local professional shows and getting scholarships in major Musical Theater colleges, I am so proud of his work and ethic. I have never been so proud!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Pick someone you work well with. Sometimes the price of each teacher does not equal to what you will get out of the lesson. Be smart!
