What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

The title of "Magician" is painted with a broad brush. I would encourage you to make sure you have the "Best" Magician for your event. I am a good fit for corporate events or cocktail parties. Pricing will vary based on the type of show, audience size, and distance I will be traveling.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I always work to best serve my customers. I think it is beneficial to schedule a time to get more specifics about unique vision and needs for an event. Once the date is confirmed I will email you an invoice. I require a 50% deposit in order to hold the date. Final payment is due the day of the event. I will show up early to make sure I can survey the room and environment.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

30+ years of experience. I have done a lot of shows during that time. I think a good rule of thumb for a Magician is "The 10,000 Hour Rule — closely associated with pop-psych writer Malcolm Gladwell. The principle holds that 10,000 hours of "deliberate practice" are needed to become world-class in any field." I've got some great experience under my belt :)

How did you get started doing this type of work?

When I was in high school I quickly figured out I could make more money and have more fun performing magic than I would flipping burgers (not to offend any potential burger flipping customers), but this worked for me. I went on to perform at a lot of sorority and fraternity events in college. I spent several years as a street performer and performed in night clubs. This was the start of a journey that I have loved every step of the way.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

A "Good Magician" is worth your investment and time. Make sure to read reviews, and talk on the phone before making a decision. I have found that taking the time to ask the right questions of my customers makes a significant difference in better serving them. I am the best pick for corporate events and cocktail parties.

Make sure you select the best performer for your audience. The effort to find the right Magician for your event is worth your time. There is a significant difference in experience and cost on thumbtack, take the time to find the best match.
