Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our minimum fee for a trio $1800. Typically we can perform for up to 3 hours for that price. Because every project is different, we're happy to provide custom price quotes tiered for up to a 12 piece band with a full horn section. That way you can find the perfect balance for your budget and music entertainment needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically the customer will email us to start the conversation. We'll then schedule a quick call to go over specifics. From there, we will issue a contract and take a 50% deposit to hold the date. Any questions and follow up calls are welcomed once the date is confirmed. The balance is due on the day of the performance.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Most of the members of the Femmes are professionally trained musicians including graduates from Berklee college of music. Combined we have over 10 years of performance experience in the wedding and events industry.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Most of us have been performing since we were in elementary school. This is the first time we've been able to play with a group made up entirely of killer women and non-binary musicians and it rocks!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Typically there are 3 types of clients we work with. - Wedding couples that want music for ceremony, cocktail hour and/or reception. We perform as a duo and with up to an 8 piece band (Redline). - Corporate event planners that need music entertainment for their specific events and parties. - Private party clients. These are typically celebrations like graduations, milestone birthday parties or just an excuse to get together with friends. Usually, we will perform in the client's home. Sometimes the client will rent a venue for the party. We're open to whatever the client decides.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We don't take bookings more than 6 months in advance. A lot of our bookings are done within 3 months to 1 week prior to an event. Our favorite recent booking was at the international women's rider's day for Harley Davidson. That one was a blast!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Since we perform private events on a weekly basis, we can offer my advice on anything from flow of events, length of performance and song selection.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
The client should know their budget and confirm the venue where the event will take place before contacting us. We're flexible, but these details help move the booking process along faster.
