What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our wedding prices may be a little higher than your average DJ - but we provide a full team to make sure your day is PERFECT! No detail escapes us and we will work with you up until the day of the wedding, and we will coordinate with your wedding planner and photographer the day of the event to make sure everything is JUST LIKE YOU WANT IT!
Our pricing is "all-inclusive" - it includes everything you need for your event. For weddings, that includes a separate ceremony set up (including mics for an officiant), dance floor lighting, MC services, mics for your use, and even a fog machine if you want. What that means if there are no add ons - not even for travel. If we quote you a price, we will come to your location for that price. Our goal is that there is no confusion in pricing at all.
We also LOVE to help with birthday, graduation and retirement parties, reunions, cook-outs, and even proms and school dances. Those prices are a little different (slightly lower, usually because there is a little less coordination with these events as opposed to weddings) so PLEASE give us a call and let us price out your party or dance - we want to make it affordable and work for you!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If Lisa is the wedding planner, couples have her number and are able to communicate with her as soon as they book us for their wedding. We will provide a fillable worksheet for couples to work through that helps us develop a base timeline for the day, as well as provide us with vendor information. Around two months prior to the wedding, Lisa begins a more formal communication with couples and schedules 3-4 phone meetings where they will finalize all of the details. We do attend and facilitate rehearsals - locally that is included in the planning fee, for out of town weddings, there is an additional fee.
ForDJ only events, we will work with the couple to determine how theywants her day to look - they will provide input on the music we play, and the order of her ceremony and reception - and we will work to make it happen JUST LIKE THEY WANT IT!
For all other events - we will work with the customer to determine what styles and genre of music you desire, and we will keep the dance floor FULL for your party. You can trust that we will ALWAYS strive to be family friendly, but we know what the dancing public wants!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Hagan is a senior at the University of South Carolina, majoring in Hotel, Retail and Sports Administration. The focus area of his study is venue and event management. He has worked with local venues like The Township Auditorium, as well as in the ticketing departing of the University of South Carolina. He has a great understanding of how events, both large and small, are planned and executed. This training and experience gives him the expertise to do his part in making sure a wedding day, corporate event, or School Dance is the best he can help it to be.
Mark and Lisa both come from experience in the corporate world. They both have experience in planning and carrying out events both large and small. Lisa has transitioned that experience into assisting brides with wedding planning, and our reviews show how much couples LOVE her calm and reassuring manner, as well as her attention to detail.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Hagan grew up in a very musical family (Dad's a drummer, sister Madyson is a Singer/Songwriter living and working in Nashville). He got a mixer for Christmas when he was about 14 and that’s when it all started. In High School, Hagan used some extra equipment lying around the house and DJ'd a few school events. From there, it grew to larger events and eventually weddings. When the demand grew to a certain point, Mark and Lisa (And and Mom) jumped in and now all three work with the company. Mark and Hagan are both DJs, Lisa is a wedding planner. Our unique combination of experience and youth put us a step above other DJs in the market.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with brides, individuals, schools and businesses for events ranging from weddings, backyard parties, school dances, corporate parties and music bingo. But the most important customer we have is you!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
All of our events are very special to us. We love the uniqueness of every event - even though they are all celebrations, whether its a wedding, corporate party or school dance, they each have an individual personality and flair, it we find it to be so much fun to get to experience it all!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Just about anyone can play some music through a speaker these days. So, when you consider hiring a DJ, its more than someone with a computer and a speaker. You want someone who can "read" your crowd and keep the party going. You want someone who has a good feel of all genre's of music, and of a wide variety of eras of music. And make sure your DJ has a large physical library of music - these days streaming is the way a lot of music is played, but what if the wifi goes out? (we are happy to stream, and use it as a way to accommodate requests that may not be in our library, but we do not depend on it for our main source of music). What type of lighting does your DJ have and does it fit your event? We can provide lighting that is very understated, or we can give you a full club environment if thats what you want. And those speakers we were talking about earlier? If your event is outside, or you have a large crowd, a small set of speakers might not be enough. Our large system is a full 6000 watts of power, and your guests will love the atmosphere we can create with a combination of sound, lighting and yes, even a fog machine! Give us a call if you have more questions - we would love to help you out with your event!
