Introduction

I have played hundreds of events throughout the nation — from New York City to Los Angeles, and everywhere in between. I know of no other musician who can provide music for an entire event on their own — starting from cocktail music and then ending in high energy dance & sing-along music. People who hire me often want my special touch that only I can provide. So listen to my recordings, and let me know if I’m a fit!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My minimum fee is $500. Other factors such as travel, adding band members, and overtime will affect pricing.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I’m easy and simple to work with. I just need to know how long you’d like me to play, and what song requests you have. I’ll send over a contract that outlines our agreement, and then we are good to go!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Brigham Young University - BM in Classical Vocal Performance University of Utah - M.M. Candidate in Jazz Studies (Jazz Piano) Credits: Headliner in Las Vegas Casino Showroom National Anthem for NCAA & NBA Resident Musician in 7 Supper Clubs Band Leader for Luxury Private Events 4 Leading Opera Roles 5 Leading Musical Theater Roles Professional Chorister Tours to: China, Brazil, Europe, and Southeast Asia

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After graduating with my bachelor’s in vocal performance, I started playing jazz piano professionally at the Salt Lake City Airport and performing as a singing pianist in restaurants in Salt Lake and Park City. The more I played at these venues, the more people would ask me to come play for their weddings and parties.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve played for weddings, corporate parties, large venues (Vivint Smart Home Arena), restaurants, country’s clubs, and retirement communities, recording studios (as a vocalist, keyboardist, and songwriter), funeral services, church services, musical theater performances.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently, my jazz trio and I played a beautiful wedding at River Bottoms Ranch in Midway, UT. We played ceremony music, cocktail hour, and dinner - for a total of about 2.5 hours. I’m fond of this memory because everyone was so happy as we were playing. People were dancing, laughing, and we got so many compliments on how we added to the wedding day.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would advise prospective clients to simply find a musician who has a sound they really love. Maybe they play one of your favorite songs very well. Or maybe they have a voice that is memorable to you. Those things are important. It’s also important to find someone who is reliable and responsive. I believe in communicating effectively and efficiently, as well as being punctual and lightening the load of the event planner as much as possible. When it comes to planning an event, I think it’s an advantage to work with a musician that has done it hundreds of times before. That’s the kind of musician I am.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
If you’ve already decided that you want live music for your event, then you’re on the right track! It’s important to just think of the overall vibe you want, when you’d like there to be live music, if you’d like mostly singing or instrumental music, if you want the music to be background or highly entertaining energetic music, and if you’d like me to play with a band or as a solo performer.
