Introduction

Joolie Bagoolie is a fun, silly, very approachable and not-scary clown entertainer who loves having fun at parties! I am a professional entertainer and theatre artist with over a decade of training and experience, and since 2011, I have been entertaining kids at (thousands of) birthday parties, family events, schools, daycares, festivals, you name it! I entertain kids with interactive adventure shows, magic shows, puppets, balloon twisting, face painting, temporary tattoos, and more. I wear my colorful and fun kids’ entertainer outfit to most events. But I'm also available to entertain as a: -Princess (Princess Joolie) -Unicorn princess -Fairy -Christmas elf -Non-scary witch I offer: - Interactive Adventure shows - Magic shows - Toddler shows - Puppets - Face painting - Balloon twisting Magic shows- My most popular show- This funny, silly, and highly interactive 30 minute magic show is great for kids ages 3-8. Joolie Bagoolie can only do the magic with the audience's help! Featuring a variety of magic tricks for a kid audience, and a friendly puppet! Interactive adventure magic show- Best suited for kids ages 4-8 This is fully engaging, active and imaginative play, with magic and puppets! Kids will get the opportunity to go on a very silly adventure with Joolie Bagoolie- an adventure that involves imaginative movement games, magic, puppets, and interactive storytelling, as the kids follow Joolie Bagoolie on a journey through a magical forest! These are about 45 minutes long and have room for customization based upon your child's interests and/or your party theme. Balloon twisting- My designs incorporate multiple balloons and range from a wide variety of silly hats, to balloon pets (dogs, butterflies, giraffes, monkeys, bunnies, turtles, dinosaurs, dragons!), to pirate swords, fairy wings, unicorn horns, magic wands, and more! Face painting- For facepainting, I use hypoallergenic, professional quality face paints and paint fun, silly, cool, or elegant designs with sparkles. The sky is the limit- I really do paint anything a kid could want. I also incorporate a paint brush sanitization process whenever I am face painting. I sanitize my brushes, stencils, and paints between each face, and I do not reuse sponges. I use fresh water between each face. Toddler entertainment- Perfect for little ones ages 4 and below, I include puppets, singalongs with movements, dancing, a parachute and/or bubbles in a fun 30 minute mommy-and-me style show. Joolie Bagoolie is always friendly and approachable, and never scary in appearance (no clown makeup) Contact me for more details! **I also have liability insurance!** Making kids smile and laugh is one of the things I love about what I do! But not only that, I love to see kids' eyes light up as they come up with a brilliant, imaginative idea during one of my interactive shows! I love when the kids get opportunities to join in like this- it's active fun rather than passive fun! This engagement is what kids also really love about the kinds of entertainment I offer! Even with balloon twisting and face painting, I love to make it a fun experience with jokes and silliness!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Contact me for pricing and so we can discuss what timing and activities will work best for your party.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First, we will discuss what entertainment will work best for your event, and figure how much time is needed based on the number of kids in attendance. We'll also discuss the age range of the kids, and what kind of venue your event will take place in. Once we figure out the details, I will send over a basic contract you can fill out with info about your party, and digitally sign. The contract also details my cancellation and safety policies. Once it's filled out, a copy will be automatically emailed to both of us. I will also collect a deposit, typically via Venmo, Paypal, Cash App, or Zelle bank transfer. The remainder is due at your event via cash, check, or any of the mentioned options. Once I receive the contract and deposit, then your booking is all confirmed! I'll keep in touch with you leading up to your party date. On the day of your party, I will text you when I'm on my way, and I'll always arrive with enough time to set up.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been entertaining kids of all ages at all types of events since 2011, across New England, New York, and in London, UK. I am also a highly trained and experienced theatre artist with an MA in ensemble theatre, and have trained, taught, and performed locally and internationally.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started out entertaining with different companies working with very different styles of entertainment and performance. Eventually I decided to start my own company that blends different elements of kids' entertainment, as well as teaching and my own theatre experience, into my own unique approach to kids' event entertainment.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Lots of parents, teachers and school staff, daycare providers, city workers and festival organizers, organizers for corporate parties, property managers, religious group leaders, you name it!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Is your entertainer experienced? For facepainting, do they properly sanitize their brushes and paints? Do they have insurance? Are they friendly and approachable with kids and not just a balloon making machine? Is their style of humor fresh and doesn't rely on tired, outdated, overly gendered jokes that make you cringe? Does their rate reflect the professional, industry standard, rather than seeming suspiciously low, or suspiciously high? Luckily, I can say that all of these things are true for myself!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
If you are looking for a magic show, is your venue suitable for one? It's important that there's enough room for the kids to sit in a semi circle with no interference, for any music to be temporarily turned off, and any background conversation to be kept to a minimum. Do you have enough space for kids to play and dance, if you are going with an interactive adventure show? Is the entertainment time incorporated into your event's schedule, so that it doesn't overlap with cake cutting, photo time, other performances or speeches? Toddlers and babies absolutely love puppets, singing, dancing and parachute games. Are the parents at your party willing to be actively engaged with their young children during the entertainment? Is the entertainment you want to book age-appropriate? Generally, toddlers aren't interested in longer shows, and they aren't at an age when magic is a suitable entertainment for them. Face painting is also generally not the best option for kids 2 and under. And keep in mind that my magic shows are catered towards young kids ages 8 and under. If you have a large number of kids at your event- keep in mind how many kids can be accommodated for face painting and balloon twisting. For example, it's not realistic to book a face painter for one hour if you have 50-100 kids at your event. Let's discuss the details of your event and I'm happy to make suggestions for what can work!
