Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I always give a reduced rate for education institutions and charities

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to ask about their vision for the project or event. It helps clarify which services I will offer and whether I am a good fit for their event. If I am not the best fit, I will refer them to other performers who specialize in the client's vision

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Bachelor in Performance Arts Physical comedy training under Dimitri Bogatirev Improvisational training with 2nd City

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I wanted to make my mom laugh. She pushed me to try out for the school play. The part was for a jester so I decided to learn to juggle. I practiced on the beach in my hometown, caught a local theater's eye, and started performing with them from high school to college. I jumped at any opportunity to perform, from hibachi chef, night club performer, street shows, and touring circuses. That lead to larger stage shows and national appearances.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked for many companies because of the diverse work that I can do. I have performed in convention booths or corporate retreats for customers like: Meta Platforms, Michelin Group, Amazon, John Deere, NVIDIA, Draft Kings I have worked in events as a stage performer or roaming entertainer for charity organizations and private companies. (Saint Jude's Children, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Make-A-Wish, National Preservation Society, Sheppard & Mullin, Dunn & Crutcher) I have also worked for private parties in their residence or their chosen location (Soho House West Hollywood, Griffin Club, Foundation Room) My most recent type of work is consulting for TV shows, stage shows, and escape rooms, (Bar Rescue, America Got Talent, Masters of Illusion, Test Subjects)

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I was contacted by a local accounting firm for a holiday project. They wanted to showcase their appreciation and connection with their clients while creating a memorable experience. I assisted them with their invitations, decorations, and entertainment for the night. All while keeping their vision. Handwritten and delivered invitations. I recommended a wonderful event decorating service and assisted in flushing out their entertainment needs with ambient performers and stage shows. From their initial contact to the date of the event was 2 weeks.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure that they share your vision. Most complaints I hear from both clients and performers are due to a lack of communication and understanding. Also, when considering the cost, worth, and speed of a project, you can use the "good, fast, cheap" concept. The common wisdom is that you can't have all three, and you must choose two. For example, a project that's fast and cheap usually won't be good, and a project that's good and cheap usually won't be fast. If a provider is promising you all three, I highly recommend looking into their reviews and contacting one of their past clients. You will usually find that their quote is too good to be true.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
